Default DSX Flex Fuel Kit Woes....

Just a forewarning. I bought a DSX flex fuel kit when I was having my heads/cam/headers+ build done. I always see everyone using DSX. This thing was leaking E85 at an alarming amount directly onto my headers from the moment it was installed. It was leaking from the sensor fittings on the hardline side that come preinstalled. I wasn't a fan of how the whole kit is just floating in the air in the engine bay either. It's probably fine but I just don't like that. But anyway, I tried taking apart the preinstalled side to see if I could figure out why it was leaking and was shocked to see the whole mating surface is gouged up with nicks all over it, and then on top of that, the barrel of the AN fitting has deep gouges down through the whole fitting. And not just one, multiple. This would have been after anodizing them too, along with shards of metal exposed on the inside. I didn't like this whole high school science experiment hardline with all these fittings on it, so I ended up ordering a lethal garage kit to replace it with. But just an FYI for anyone who is looking at buying one of these kits. Check all the fittings before you install it if you're dead set on buying this kit. I don't know if I could warranty this or not, but to be completely honest, if this is how they send things out, I don't trust the replacement anyway.

well did you contact them and ask what the deal is?
yes many use the dsx kit and dont have issues.
no one is perfect, however, when issues arise its customer service of some that sets apart that makes the difference.
overall when i was looking at kit myself i was looking at other ones that possibly looked different when installed.
but due to changes i decided to stay with 93 gas for now.

I haven't, to be honest after looking at this kit, I wouldn't trust/want a replacement. This was more a warning post to inspect the item prior to installing if anything. I put an inspection light on it with a magnifier to get the following photos where you can see quite a lot of damage inside the fittings. To the point there's shards of metal hanging off inside the barrel of the fittings. The kit introduces 5 points new points of failure from stacking these fittings in various places. When trying to see if someone else had the problem and how they fixed it I found quite a lot of posts on this and the camaro forum regarding low side fuel pump fittings from the same company all leaking without slathering thread sealer on them. I didn't realize how the kit is just floating in the air supported by the hardline and fittings only in the engine bay either. I've ordered a braided fuel line with OEM connections to just bypass the whole hardline on this kit and clean up the appearance. Again, my unwillingness to use this product is just my personal opinion and decision based on my experience with it. Not telling people not to buy it, but it may be worth inspecting the preconfigured side of the kit for defects so you don't end up with metal fragments clogging your injectors in the long run. I threw the hardline setup in the trash.

You make thousands and thousands of fittings and have them all perfect, it will NEVER happen. contact Dave they will handle it the right way and you'll be on your way.

I'm already good to go. I replaced the whole section with a stainless braided line w/ OEM fittings and hard mounted the sensor with a billet bracket so it's not floating in the air unsecured.

In my decades of using a number of different brands of AN fittings I've never had a new one leak. This suggests to me that your vendor sent out used ones or seconds for some reason.
