Default dod delete question

I see many of the plugs on the dod delete stick up above the tower they are pushed into. the billet valley pan i8 have has o rings around each tower space. do the plugs need to sit flush or will the valley tray be pushed up? I can easily countersink the towers and tap them for a new flush screw if that is what's needed. just wasnt sure why they (katech) would bring the valley tray if the plugs seat against the tray

When I did this, I used the CB street cars dod plug kit and mine sat up a little bit above the towers. There was a little lip at the end of the plug and that sits flush with the tower, but the whole plug itself did not go down all the way when I installed my cam. Hope this makes sense and helps.

Just went through some old pictures from a year ago when I did this, not the best image, but if you zoom in, you can see how far I seated the plugs and what I was talking about. Hope this helps!

it does make sense and your pic is what I expected to see . im just questioning why katech would put orings on the underside of their Vally pan if the dod plugs would keep it from seating onto the towers. I guess an email into katech is ion order to find an answer

The Katech and other valley cover plates have O-rings that line up to the towers so that you do not have use the plugs, correct?
I thought that was the whole point of the design of these plates.

im not sure hence my thread. common sense would tell me your correct but I would HATE to put the entire motor back together and back in the car on ly to find out they are leaking! '
I emailed katech to see what they have to say since they made the billet piece. either way is fine with me my old may lead me to countersinking the towers and tap them for machine screws and locktitie

They do that to get you second guessing and buy their valley cover.

as usual katech was 24 hrs and responded to my email. with the katech valley tray the orings seal the towers and plugs are not needed. so ill run it that way with confidence now and save a few bucks not having the plugs installed
