I'm ready to do a few mods to my 2017 ZO-6 corvette, I am split between headers and x-pipe or cat delete down pipes and cat delete x-pipe. I know you get more power with headers but I don't want to have to change blown headers gaskets often since I'm getting older. The older cars from the 60's and 70's used to blow then often but I have been told the newer multi layer graphite gaskets are much better, can any of you c-7 owners tell me how often your header gaskets blow and what gasket you are using? Thanks Bill

You know, I do remember hearing about blown header gaskets many years ago, but honestly have not seen posts in a long time that talk about that problem with newer parts.
My headers have been on car for over 5 years now , installed with the same OEM gaskets as factory manifold, absolutely no leaks .
I have even taken the right side header off to gain access to my starter , i just reinstalled same gasket with no issues
It all depends on the header manufacturer and installer as the flange needs to be straight and the bolts re-torqued when the engine warms up . I had headers on my C6 with OEM gaskets with no issues also . Most people that I have talked with all use the OEM gaskets

Do it right and just do a proper header + xpipe for maximum gains. Combine it with oem gaskets for the best seal possible. I do have some Kooks options in stock ready to ship if you're interested message me and we can go over options together.

As far as gaskets go, I used the factory stainless on my 05 Z06 with headers and no leaks in 15 years. I have seen dyno tests showing practically the same HP gain with just X-pipe as with headers and X-pipe. My son's C7 Z06 with just X-pipe and E85 tune has run a best of 11.06 in the quarter.
if your going to headers and gaskets go ahead and spend a few $$ on a set of arp header studs. this way you can slide the gasket onto the studs and same for the headers and let this rest on the studs rather than trying to hold a header and thread a bolt in. its very tight and hard to do. studs will ease the pain
