Default Horn

Hello everyone,
I would like to know if I can deactivate the horn when I get out of the car by closing the door just for a little moment. Do you know how? Thanks again for your wonderful advice, which is always invaluable.
See you soon, have a nice day .
best regard from France.

Welp, it's done in the options in the DIC. Either it toots or it doesn't toot. A little moment means nothing as far as the tooting is concerned.

Hello everyone,

When I get out of my corvette c7 with the key in the pocket and the engine running, closing the door, the car honks. Can I remove this signal, mute the horn.

Thank you all, see you soon

Go to the infotainment (radio) display, not the DIC (speedometer display). Locate the settings (gear) icon and go into settings. The passive door lock setting can be ON, On with (horn) chirp, or OFF. Seems like you want it On (without chirp) or off.

There are dozens of settings to explore. The manual may have more explanation for some of them.

Have fun exploring.

I'm pretty sure mine does this too. And, I don't think there's a way to disable it.

I assume you get a quick double (or may 3) beeps from the horn?

When I first got my C7 I did a cursory web search and IIRC this is some kind of feature and no one knew how to turn it off.

There are different horn honks, meaning different things. There is a single beep, and a triple beep. The one I know can be deactivated is the auto lock, single beep. You can set the car to auto lock or not auto lock when you leave the car. You can also set the horn to beep when you walk away or not, when it's in auto lock mode. I like the auto lock function, it wont auto lock with the key in the car. It is comforting to hear the little beep when you walk away from the car. I think you can also set the lights to blink when it auto locks.
It is nice when you walk up to the car, magic, it's unlocked.
