Your filter is already out of date and has been replaced with a 'newer' model.
Makes one wonder.
When GM first started this new filter a month club, I had just purchased a new filter and it was an 048. After comparing it to my extra stock of 445 filters, the 048 went into the trash.
One of my main mottos is 'Oil and Filters are cheap, Engines are not.
Just because GM changes a oil filter number or even how they make it doesn't mean the older style is bad,,,,, it's even possible that the older style is even better. It just depends on what they changed. They could make it better or went cheap.
^^ It's all about the money. Cheap. Rest assured, it's not better. Just cheaper to manufacture. Worse? Who knows. I'll use the one that gets shipped to me next time I buy it and not worry about it.
During the progression of PF oil filter updates was a change to the 22 psi bypass from the older lower psi. I suspect they determined with the dry sump engines they needed a higher bypass rating.
ETA: I didn't realize this is a C7 forum when I first posted here...
Until Chevrolet changes things (again) - oil filter numbers:
12706595 PF64 is an older, superseded part number.
25206377 PF64 is a more recent one. But it also has been replaced by a newer part number 25206966. Both 12706595 and 25206377 are the same type of filter (PF64), and they are interchangeable for LT engines, but...
25206966 PF64 is the most current replacement for both.

This is why I now stick w/ the Mobil1 114 filter. Next time you are at the store pick up on of the PF64s in one hand and a 114 in the other hand. The 114 weighs noticeably more. To me that means a stronger design. I am not interested in using the cheapest poc that GM can buy and use on a bunch of other models besides Corvette.
For the future someone like me searching on this, this is the new filter as other models became obsolete and discontinued. This is the latest pf64 filter - new and improved, so other cars can use it too - cadillac uses it too I think. But it's for C7 vettes. 25206966 pf64
22psi, 20-30 micro at 99%, same everything but slightly better materials (for heat resistance) and better flow design.
Isn't PF64 the only GM oil filter identifier that matters for these cars per the owner's manual? I think you guys are getting upset over filter manufacturing changes that still meet the original PF64 specification.
