Default 2019 triple flush

Does a 2019 GS require a triple trans flush or did GM have it figured out? How many miles does one seem to have when the problem starts and what to be GM?

If your 2019 A8 was assembled after February 1st, 2019, you have the new fluid. There is no set mileage for symptoms to show up. GM issued the TSB to cover the issue but the triple flush is on your dime. Getting the triple flush done is still cheaper than replacing a torque converter or transmission.

Its the trans manufacture date not the cars manufacture date.

It is on a label on the transmission itself.

Lots of post on it and some even show the label and how to decode it.

Flattman - thanks for posting that pic - pretty much explains what you need to know when it comes to the requirement for a triple flush on an A8.

Its a viscosity change to alleviate a problem that occurs when you drop to V4 mode cruising. If yours was made later, it was already done.

If you use a Range AFM device, you don't need it, as you should never be in V4.

Actually it was a change to a non hyperscopic fluid. ie: Blue label Mobil 1.

C7 A8 trans runs cooler than other cars due to the air cooled trans ATF cooler.

Mine runs ~ 137* city driving.

The cooler temps allow moisture to build up in the fluid causing TCC shutter.

Do you have a picture of where this is located? Left or right side front or back - just trying to figure out which side to jack up so that I can get under the car.

New to this, I take it the Blue Mobil 1 is the fully synthetic ? Best place to buy, I've read 24 qts to do the flush.......

Who is doing the flush? If it is YOU, where you can get it cheapest. If you are getting it done at a dealership, I would get it from them. Either they will refuse to work on it or they will write on the ticket "Installed fluid supplied by customer" as a CYA if there are issues.

Does the triple flush need to be done on a 2019 ZR1? Mine was produced in late 2018.

I would say that late 2018 is before Feb 1 2019, no?

Any A8 transmission that has a build date, label on the trans itself, before Feb 1, 2019, has the old fluid and needs to be changed to the new Mobil 1 Blue Label ATF.
