Back in the day.....damn I'm getting old....there used to be a variety of engine design software packages. You could model bore, stroke, rod length, static and dynamic compression, ignition timing, all the cam specs, etc and come up with an engine design. It was great for not only peak power determination but also changing the shape of the hp and torque curves.
Does anyone know of something similar that exists in this day in age? Ideally it'd be for Gen V engines but I suspect that may be a bridge too far.
