Just wondering if anybody has tried this. On the front of the valley plate, VLOM, there are two plugs, one for oil pressure, the other for operating the 4 cylinder mode. Has anybody tried unplugging this instead of using the ODB disabler?
Would this pop codes?

What I am wondering,,,,, without the mod and without the tune, without the Range, would unhooking the connection disable the 4 cylinder mode. The connection isn't that hard to get to.
Also I am not sure what effect it would have long term on the engine.

Not without popping a code ..... The Range actually clears the codes on every start , hence the reason why you need to pull it out before going thru emissions testing as it clears the drive cycle tests also
Turning it off in the tune and then setting the code to "not report"is the best way , Emissions tests allow for 1 or 2 to be set to not report and still pass ....

Pretty much anything you unplug under the hood is going to lead to a CEL.
Range ra003 devices are on sale, the sale ends today
I just installed my programed ECM. I got the LT1SWAP 4 cylinder delete mode done, along with the VLOM mod. No more device plugged into the OBDII, no more 4 cylinders. Works good.
A side note. I didn't disconnect the battery to do the ECM change, all is good.
