Coolant isn't something an Autozone, Advance Auto, etc can accept, You are going to have to check with your local recycling center to see if they will or some place that does hazardous chemicals. Some repair shops might. Kinda why I won't DIY that. Draining the coolant and collecting all the coolant flushed out is no small task. I don't have enough containers to hold all the waste coolant plus flushed fluid.

I have taken used coolant to Walmart auto dept and a local tire / oil change place (some place that replaces coolant and has to recycle their own waste).
I keep a couple empty windshield washer fluid jugs in the garage for stuff like this.
No problems.
