Default Magne Ride Shocks

Apparently my new to me C7 needs new Shocks as they are leaking. I was shocked pun intended on how much they are. Anyone have a source for aftermarket equivalent to OEM.

Thanks!

You will have to look yourself as you will need to enter the particular info about your car to see the proper parts.

Found it while pulling it up again. Not bad price, used to buy from Rock Auto all the Time.

Wonder why you are double posting?

I would only buy from RA if I don't plan on using the warranty and time isn't an issue. RA makes warranty a bit more complicated and last time I got shocks shipped next day, it was 3 days later. Mechanic was pissed with it sitting on the lift waiting for parts I told him would come next day. Fedex told me that they couldn't refund my next day shipping and RA told me to go pound sand in not so many words.

How much are they leaking? I've heard that a light coating is considered "ok".

Do they still dampen and adjust properly?

Shock absorber: defined suspension component designed to reduce the jolting and jarring on uneven terrain.

Cornering the other day felt unstable at best and harshness. I've had a C7 before but this has 60k miles so just want to replace and get it sorted. Rock Auto has what I need and GM products so think I'm set.

I'm somewhat familiar with the shock absorber thing. I just didn't understand what that sentence meant.

Fair enough. Only way I know that's definitive is to put it on a shock dyno. Besides Bilstein, I'm not sure who has one to test. On non mag shocks, I like to push them in and see how they compare to a new one before I install it. For the kind of money you are spending, I will want to he sure before I install it.

Miy prognosis is experience and seat of the pants driving since I'm old and when it doesn't feel right it isn't .

Isn't "prognosis" akin to a forecast? Or did you mean that your diagnosis is based on.....?

Don't know how old you are or what age has to do with anything. Some people use SOTP some like me, deliberately ignore it and prefer instruments since they are less subjective and less prone to imagination interfering with the judgment.

Toxic day huh? Prognosis can be likely course of ailment, the ailment being the failing of the shocks. All I originally asked for was a source for shocks and see if anyone had a preference. Let's leave it at that, have a great day.
