If the fluid is blue as is the new fluid, how is it easier to identify?
You would simply use amber fluid one time and blue the next. It was a great system.
What about the fluid in the ABS? Doesn't it need to be activated to remove the old fluid from the module?

OK. What is the reason for this switching back and forth? Isn't it easier to just buy whatever fluid you want and flush it with enough to know it has gone through?
I believe there are some scanners that have a way to pulse the ABS solenoid to get the last bit out?

Yeah, I used a Tech2 to do it. Was wondering how important it is since none of the posts have mentioned it.
Great information - thanks for all of the advice. I have a question for all - my 2019 GS only has 3000 miles, when should I change my DOT 4 fluid?
I followed MB and did it every 2 years because I had a couple of them. One whole day was brake fluid flush day. Do 1 car, take it to the car wash as a test drive and wash, come back clean. Next car. All 5 done and we move on to the ATVs, bike and trike. The last 2,i hose off.
For the longest time GM didn't do brake fluid flushing even. Slowly, they are getting around to the idea of flushing. Baby steps so 5 years. I used the tester on it after 3 years and had higher levels of moisture than I like to see.
