Default Steering Settings?

2019 GS A8. Still learning what feels good. The modes are pretty straightforward with suspension and exhaust. I have mild to wild programmed to my homelink and its fully open mostly. Suspension in these MI crap roads is mostly tour. Tour steering is far too loose. I was independently switching steering mode from sport to track and track actually felt a hair lighter and more like old hydraulic steering to me. By far my favorite I think. Sport steering I swear is the tightest setting. Everything I read says track should be the tightest? I don't feel that. What do you all feel?

I cannot believe how much I love this car

Tour has the most power assist, then Sport, then Track has the least power assist.

I felt my 2019 GS was all over the road with steering in Tour. Switched steering to Track 6 years ago and haven't had an issue.

Also ran my 2014 Z51 in track for all 5 years of ownership.

Both the ratio and assist vary with the mode select. Mine is a '15 w/ z-51 and magride, and its noticeably different from Tour to Sport to Track. I do like the instant response in track mode, but the suspension is just a little too stiff for my ride home.

And yes, after 3 years, it puts a smile on my face almost everyday!

The steering ratio does not change with mode - ratio is set by metal gears. Variable ratio means that the ratio is different at center and increases as you turn the wheels for sharp corners or parking. You can set the steering (and exhaust) to Link to Drive Mode, Tour, Sport, or Track using the infotainment Settings menus. Then you can still change drive mode (ride / suspension / throttle progression) with the rotary dial on the console. So - you can have steering locked in Track, exhaust locked in Sport, and change the drive mode with the dial.

I appreciate all the replies! I recognize all the settings can be set to stick etc. No problems there. My question is only of other feel that sport is tighter than track. It seems backwards in my car to me. Sport steering is clearly requiring more effort to me than track steering. Tried all steering modes in tour suspension mode for a level playing field.

I wish my 2018 w/Z51 had magnetic ride.

Sport mode, track exhaust, track steering. Never do anything else.

Sport and Track steering are very similar for me. I may notice track being a slightly tighter feel but not by much compared to sport. Personally, I drive in tour on the street for comfort.

Track exhaust, Sport steering, and mode selector set to Tour mostly. On smooth roads with lots of tight turns I like to use Sport or Track mode. Track steering is a little stiff for my street driving.
