Default C7 Dead Pedal installation

Hi. I am a new member. We just got my son his first car, a 2017 C7 base. Of course, he is ecstatic.

The car is an automatic and didn’t have the left foot rest (dead pedal). The dealer said the gentleman trading it in was something like 6’6”, and he had removed it. Anyway, I ordered in the stock pedal, but cannot figure out how to install it. The pedal has 4 prongs in the back, but there is only 1 hole in the carpet at the left foot area near kick panel. Can anyone tell me how to install? Any pics or videos will really help. Thanks a bunch !!!

I just finished installing the exotic vette double extreme insulation kit and had the entire interior out of the car, including the dead pedal. There should be holes in the carpet for the dead pedal and 4 holes in bracket on the floor for it. You may have to adjust the carpet a little, but there shouldn't be a trick to it. I slide the whole carpet assembly in and everything was pretty much lined up, I needed to adjust it very slightly, but those holes should be visible and the pedal should just press in.

It should just clip in by pressing on the foot rest. Unless, the previous owner removed the foot rest bracket that it clips into. Maybe if you took pics of that area we could compare it to what we have in our cars and see if anything is missing.

This is the bracket the foot rest attaches to:
