I'm getting ready to rebuild my torque tube and decided to change the converter also. I want to go with a circle d 3200-3400. The car will b daily driven mostly only on weekends and will be stock with cai headers and a tune. On their website it's gives 3 sizes 245mm 258mm and 265mm what will be the difference with the different sizes? Will i need a aftermarket trans cooler? Any info is greatly appreciated and the car will not be getting nitrous or forced induction yet.
I'd definitely get some guidance from Circle D on the selection. I will say though, once you get that converter in, you'll wonder how you ever lived without it!
I have a C7A8 2016 base car that failed a diff in 2022 so when it was replaced I installed a Circle D 245 3600 converter. I drove it and drag raced it for 2 yrs. Because I was too quick for sportsman I detuned to a 245 2800 stall converter. I had the 3600 refurbished by Circle D and will sell it to you for $450 plus shipping. You do not have to have the car tuned after the install but can depending on your intended use. For drag racing you might want to leave it unlocked at WOT vs road course keep it locked. There is no difference in driving experience once you are above lockup speed (34-37 MPH). No change or even slight improvement in highway mileage and you will give up about 1 MPG in city traffic. I have documentation on my converter if needed.

did you ever get the car on the dyno? and what about roll racing did you loose any top end? also are you still using the stock trans cooler? What is the reason for leaving it unlocked drag racing won't locking it up increase mph once you get going
