For those who've installed a (any brand) CAI without tuning on their Stingray was there any negative or noticeable issue
with the intake tube 'mesh screen' not being there on the aftermarket piece, i.e. idle issues, increase/decrease mpg's, CEL ? I've read some other posts
about the screen straightening the air flow before it hits the MAF, i would think if it was a issue
we would've seen many posts complaining about the switch to a CAI. Still not sure if i want to experiment just tossing it around but not looking for trouble and wasting $$.

Other than make more intake noise on a stock LT1, they work fine. Won't add power. That's why all the ads say something along the lines of "up to xx hp". That means 0 hp up to xx hp

I've had my AFE CAI for years. It was on the stock engine and now it's on the current 416. If you look close you can see it in there...

I have a Halltech carbon fiber CAI on my C7 Z06 and it was never tuned. Runs great, sounds great, no issues at all. If the car didn't come with it already installed, I wouldn't have gotten one. What I like most is how easy the filter is to service. 4 screws, pop the lid, and you're there.

I just installed an Attack Blue Frankenstein filter in my stock housing on my 2014 Z51. Dry filter media and the C7 already uses a CAI design.

do yourself a favor and get a Soler ported throttle body. What an awesome upgrade that was, I also got the throttle controller which made the car so much more responsive!

Hey all thanks for the reply's, Just purchased this '15 C7 about 6 months ago has 23,000 Ish miles and when i was doing some of the maintenance checks i noticed it had the made in Thailand paper filter, not being sure if it was OE although it was pretty clean so it may have been changed with a OE replacement, in any case that's when i noticed that mesh screen and researching CAI's none of them had it so i purchased an Attack Blue filter and installed that.
Whether or not i change out for an aftermarket piece just for the bigger box and smoother intake tubing I'm still undecided at this point.
But for now, just enjoying the heck out of it after a couple year hiatus from Corvettes.

Oh and as far as Soler i do have the throttle controller and like that very much, not sure about the TB though I'll do my research on those thanks.
