Default Rear gear swap

I have a 2019 Z06 M7. Have done intake, exhaust, pulley, and suspension. Now considering rear end. Has anyone swapped a 3:73 or 4:10 in and if so, what results? Thanks!

Kind of pricey. Gear set is $1000 plus parts and the time for an expert to set it up, assuming your diff is serviceable. If you got a new diff from RPM, going to cost you $5500 plus labor and a core charge is involved. You have to drop the rear drive train to swap the diff. Thought about it but could spend that kind of money getting a super charger installed. Have to admit, the thought of a 3.90 or 4.10 with my M7 sounded neat.

Right, we used to put 4:10s in C4 ZR-1s. Great mod.

So the car already has no traction in 1st, 2nd, and 3rd gear. 4th gear will take you to just over 150mph. You want to put 4.10s in it to have even less traction and lower the speed in 4th and the overall top speed. Ok

The C7Z even unmodified is just a wee bit different than the C4 ZR1 when it comes to mods.

Btw...you'll also need the tune updated. Free if you're the one doing the tuning with the current mods of course.

If you tell me you're going to do a 15" conversion and run drag slicks then maybe it's a different answer.

This is not the old days .. with the gear ratio of 1st 2nd and 3rd do you know what the final effective gear ratios are .... figure it out before you make a smart a$$ post because its actually more than 4:10 with just the stock rear gear ...
Those gears will make 1st and 2nd gear absolutely useless ......

Dave, your boyfriend made the point but you couldn’t resist not piling on… typical. You guys wonder why people make fun of Corvette people…. Go back to polishing your lug nuts and waxing your New Balance shoes.

I'll be at the race track this weekend (Hallett Motor Racing Circuit). Feel free to come demonstrate your manhood. I'll tell the guys in the Miatas and S2000s to wave as they pass you.

My car is easy to spot. My preferred shoes are made by Sparco See you there.

Really , is that what you think we are lol lol ....you come to a forum and ask "has anybody ever done the gear swap" like you are going to be the first , when we both answer you , you did not like the answer so you insult us lol lol . WTF did u come to the forum for if you had the answers ....

You know nothing about me or my "boyfriend" , I would also be glad to meet you at the track at any time if you think i am a new balance chrome polishing corvette owner , just bring a wad of cash as we aren't doing this for free . You won't be the first smack talker I embarrassed.....

Take a look at my stats .... you dont get that may likes or comments polishing lug nuts , And since you are playing Testosterone king , how many engines , transmissions or rears have you built yourself from scratch ... not paid sombody to do ?

So you never answered my question on what the final gear ratios are just using the stock rear end ..... Please enlighten us with your knowledge ... or maybe you just want to keep.insulting people

Dave

I don't know about a Z06 but with a standard Lt1 the length of the gearing is downright embarrassing at times on track when I need to pass someone and I've ended up in the 4000s and the car has turned into a brick. The length of the gearing was the biggest thing I had to get used to with the corvette vs other sportscars I've owned.
I may take a crack at DIY'ing the final drive.
Or maybe I just need more power, lol.
