with the Z28 start at 75k
and u guy expect the Z06 from 70 to 100??
then who will buy the Z28.
Man I'm a little tired of people saying that...
Does anyone actually know what the Z28 is? What it comes with?
It's a stripped down, no A/C, no leather, no heated seats, 2 speaker, no nav, no frills, very low production, track car... It in no way whatsoever competes or is compatible to a Corvette, the only similarity is it has a LS7.
The price of a Camaro doesn't mean jack to what a true GT or Super car will sell for, a car that his heated and cooled seats and A/C.
The "ZR1" portion of this was IMO misquoted. Tadge has been quoted before saying "if you can afford a C6 Z06 you will be able to afford a C7 Z06". They know that they can't support the program with the sales that a 120K car generates..... See Viper, SRT... DOA.
I agree. Just like one article yesterday that referred to the "2014 ZR1", lol.
S.
At that price (which I expect as well) they should sell and sell and sell. Let's just hope that the general doesn't get out over their skis this time like they did in 07 and bump the price $5000 because of huge first year demand. Stay the course and maintain strong sales throughout the C7 life cycle.

I bet the majority of the C7 Z06's built will be 2LZ without the Z07 option and will be split about even between the M7 and the A8. Just like the C6 Z06, most will be reasonably priced and not optioned out running the price up. There were many more C6 Z06's built and priced in the $80,000 range than in the $100,000 range.

By this logic, the Z06 should cost even more because the Z06 is a Super car WITH heated/cooled seats and Navi and leather and 6 or 10 speakers... How does providing fewer options = more money?
Sorry, I guess i trust Autoblog quoting Tadge Juechter before C&D amorphously saying "GM says..."
C&D specifically quoted Tadge too. One of them has to be wrong, and with other quotes from the show that a fully optioned Z06 would come in at under $100k, I tend to believe the C&D quote.

Things like adding thinner glass, and yes, removing certain items may actually add to costs when manufacturing. Plus, the Z/28 is a limited run, low volume car with very expensive shocks, brakes, tires, and engine. It's really apples to oranges.
The Camaro ZL1 is a better comparison to the new Z06 IMO.

Cool... I didn't see that they had quoted him also... i sure hope thats right. Trust me, I am praying for 75K... starting at 95 and optioning in the 110's is more than i am willing to spend...
I just read $85,000 in the Motor Trend newsletter I received in an email.
15/ 25 mpg also.
If it starts at $85K there is no way a fully loaded Z will be under $100K. No way. Add 3LZ, Z07, competiton seats, alcantara headliner, different brake caliper color, carbon exposed roof, wheel finish........Thats a $110K car.
At the 2013 Detroit Auto Show, Tadge was quoted as saying the C7 would be available in a right hand drive version, to the British press. Of course, the Australian press picked that up and reported it. The very next day, the number 2 guy at GM, had to make an announcement that the C7 was not planned to be available in a right hand drive version.

Wouldn't be surprised if the comp seats are standard and if you'd note what was listed in the Z07 package I think you may see it as something like the Z51 package therein it only adds wing and brakes, also perhaps springs or something else (aside from the tires of course). Which would be a well priced package and thus not effect the price by as much as some May think from previous years.
Starting sub $80,000 I think given the Z07 and 1LZ, 2LZ, 3LZ spread I expect the car to grow like the base car did with as you may have caught onto by now is they way they are planning to present and sell the Corvette for the 7th generation. As the spread on the base car is about $20,000 between the base 1LT without Z51 and 3LT with Z51.
