Help me decide
Does the GT mean the same thing in the following cars;
Ford GT
Shelby GT
Mustang GT
Excort GT
F150 GT (this may have been a dealer thing but did see them)
The Shelby GT is a solid rear axle musclecar, something that is different than a sportscar. I can't stand muscle cars. It's also a 60k+ car designed off a 22k car chassis and Interior. No thanks. Even with its huge HP it wouldn't be able to touch a C7 Z06 on a track and you also happen to look like every 20 year old Mustang owner on the road. I don't like the Camaro either, and the charger is a joke.

Ask yourself what it is you really want ("really, really, really want") and can reasonably afford?
If you still 'love' your '09 Z06, keep it. If you are intrigued by the 'latest and greatest' C7Z, have other financial needs, then forget the nice daily driver and start your C7Z savings account so that 1+ years hence you can make the C7Z purchase. Of course, you'll need the space to store your two toys...C6Z and C7Z.
If you can live without a hi-po car, sell your '09 Z06 at the most opportune time and invest the money. Buy your next 'dream car' when you can drive it, or at least read/view someone else's report on the performance of an actual production car.
If you really want a nice daily driver, buying a S4 would be a good choice. The S4 is a great car - quiet, fast, comfortable, solid, great stereo when optioned with the B&O, and slick 6 speed manual (the DSG is even quicker but not as fun/engaging to drive) - that you'll enjoy driving.
If you're like me, you've come to know that this addiction to/obsession with cars is expensive. They're depreciating assets. Whether it be your C6 or the new C7, it's going to drop in value. Decide what you can afford, what you really want, and enjoy the journey to make it happen...it's costing you a lot of money!

Vern

The Z06 has a different frame, different engine, different suspension, etc. The Shelby has a different engine. Lol.
I stand by my comment. No Mustang, Shelby or not can/should never be compared to a Z06.

Dude, nice way to start a BS Ford debate in the OPs thread. I really didn't see where he asked for opinions about a new Shelby.

Please tell me why Ford guys must do this all the time on a GM based forum? Jealous of what you lost? I don't get it. I like the Mustang for what it is but I don't hang out on the SVT Forum talking trash about how my Z would destroy your Shelby.
