The odd thing about it is that no one here wishes to win a delivery date competition. All we want is to get our vehicles as soon as is possible and we wish the same for any other member who's ordered one of them. This pretense that somehow one has special access to the ordering process and is going to be first means nothing to most of us, in fact we're more likely to be happy for that person than anything else.
But like I said, the OP has already said on another thread that he's forked out $15k over msrp, so I'm guessing trying to pretend to random strangers on a forum that he's the first is an understandable, albeit soulcrushingly sad, coping mechanism. I sure hope for his sake his dream of winning this non-existent race manifests.
You honestly have no idea what you're talking about ... I have a six letter tracking number and I ordered a Z07 as clearly indicated on my build sheet:
Someone, probably your salesman, has been feeding you wrong information, probably to justify to you the $15k over msrp you say he charged you. But if it makes you happy you can keep believing you are the only person in the universe able to get his order in before Sept 18th, despite the fact that GM has explicitly stated it is impossible and the ordering software doesn't allow for it.
Now please stop advising folks about their orders when you don't even know how they work.
Obviously you don't have a clue because you didn't get an order TRACKING # is because you ordered an AUTOMATIC - there are center allocations and constraints
Week 1: NO Automatic, No Convertible, NO FAY dash, 1- Z07 pkg, 1 CFV/CFZ
Week 2: No automatic, No convertible, No FAY dash, NO Z07, No CFV/CFZ

never said I was the first - but I'm glad you got something to strive for - I was trying to help others out and find what others have heard and what I have been told. Granted I didn't give a lot of info - but it didn't seem that a lot of people didn't know what they were talking about!
Yes you have an order number. If you look closely it says "preliminary" status 1100. They have your order but your dealer doesn't have an allocation assigned to him yet to fill that order. Hopefully he will get one in the first batch and, if there are no constraints on your options, you will have one of the first cars. I hope so because yours is almost identical to mine. If he gets an early allocation and there are constraints then you must either change your order to match what is available or he must find a retail customer to fill that order or lose the allocation. This isn't accounting with first in first out. Doesn't work that way. 1100 status isn't much more than paperwork filled out.
So is yours. I have no dog in this fight, but you're painting an unflattering picture of yourself here. And you're doing so because you literally have no idea what you're talking about. At the same time, you're crapping on people that do actually know.
Read this post in the C7 section and note carefully what Event #1100 means. It means that the dealer placed and order, but it HAS NOT BEEN ACCEPTED BY CHEVY YET. That's the next Event #.
SBGGQ7 for mine. As mentioned, having an order number means your dealer has typed an order into his computer. I had one when the dealer just saved a configuration for me, and got the one I just mentioned when the sales manager entered it as a retail sold order. You need to look in the stickies in the C7 general sub forum, as it has a good explanation of the ordering status codes.
You will find that the GM tracking site you used is somewhat rudimentary, and can be so misleading as to be worthless. GMs internal order status system has almost 30 status codes for the process from order to delivery. The website has five statuses.
Since GM will not even accept a Z06 order until the Sep 18 consensus cycle, (stated in the yearly allocation announcement,) any Z06 order is at best, status 1100. This is equivelent to telling UPS or Fedex you have a package to pickup. Until they actually pick it up, nothing is guaranteed. There are still people with orders placed for 2014 C7s, who never had their order advance past 1100. Until GM accepts the order and assigns it to a dealers allocation, there is no guarantee.

I can admit when I am wrong and will eat crow - I didn't see on your preliminary order the number or which state your dealership is in - but if you could do me the favor and go to this web page http://www.chevrolet.com/order-tracking.html and tell me if it says your order has been placed?

You need to understand that that web page's status doesn't mean what you think it means. Follow the event codes and only the event codes. Those are what matter. Not what some Chevy website says. Everyone that's put an order in so far, including you, is at 1100. It simply means that their respective dealers have submitted an order, NOT that's actually been accepted by Chevrolet.
Mods, may I suggest closing this thread. We have a person who joined this month trolling, and flaming long time members, who know more about the Corvette order process than he will ever know.
I may be naive but I honestly don't think he's trolling. His dealer has conned him into paying $15k over msrp and has been feeding him bunk that he's on some super secret fastback process in order to justify it. Or maybe he is trolling.
Either way this nonsense needs to stop ... he can believe whatever he wants as long as he stops commenting and giving opinions regarding other members' orders ... members who may have just joined and have no context to know that he has no idea of what he speaks.

lol...especially when he's telling people he knows their TPW from the order number.

I appreciate that you did go on the web page and see if yours also said the same thing....and I can say that you are correct that those are preliminary orders.....when I first joined this forum I thought maybe people would be helpful and cordial. I am sadly disappointed by the replies and reactions from some of you - downright evil some of them! Sometimes people might have a little information that others don't.....this is what I got from a very reliable source and no it wasn't a dealership or anything like that - and also with order numbers that have ALL letters won't be in cue for quite some time and those that have numbers at the end will be produced first because they want to sell out the very expensive packages first - hence the following constraints:
WEEK 1: Constraints; NO Automatic, No Convertible, NO FAY dash, 1- Z07 pkg, 1 CFV/CFZ
THIS IS WHY DEALERSHIPS were calling people to get someone to order a Z07 this past week
WEEK 2: Constraints, No automatic, No convertible, No FAY dash, NO Z07, No CFV/CFZ
this goes on and on - although after my experience here - I am almost ashamed that I own several corvettes and to be associated with this ilk. Thank you to those that thought it would be fun to call names and attack someone just because you are closed minded and your first reaction is to reply with name-calling, it shows a huge lack of wisdom, intellect and social skills. Thank you for ruining my experience on this forum and recognizing why the general populace can't pass a 5th grade exam. And those of you that are and were welcoming (mostly sent by email) you are the pièce de résistance and in a league far higher than most - I guess I understand why you communicate privately instead of going on this forum.
I did not get any of the info from a dealer - but again thank you all for attacking a complete stranger and being so completely rude and unapproachable. So disappointing that so many people are so judgmental and closed minded.
