Default Z06 Rear Diffuser

I just ordered a carbon fiber rear diffuser from Ben at WeaponX. Can't wait to see the quality of this piece and how it flows with the rest of my Z07. Ben was awesome to deal with and is a bona fide car guy. I will post up some pics once the car arrives and I install the new diffuser.

Anyone else thinking of doing a rear diffuser like this to sex up the a$$ end? IMHO, it really adds some dimension to the look of the rear. Damn, this thing looks sweet.

Ben stated that the rear diffuser on the Stingray and Z06 use the same part number, so it should fit...fingers crossed. If not, he will take it back.

Any idea when you "speculate" your Z will arrive? I am guessing Early to mid November (just a hunch). My order has been in since Friday and tomorrow is the last day to make changes.

I think that's about the right time frame. But, I also don't typically have the best luck. So, I'm expecting my car will be delayed for QA, and then rear ended while still on the hauler. So, my expectation is mid-April. Anything sooner will be a bonus

What about the wider heat exchanger vents on the Z on the sides?

From the photos shown, and GM's remarks, I got the impression that the width of the Z06's rear fascia was 3 inches wider than the base car. GM has said that the taillights are 3 inches further apart and the photos show the Z06 with larger(wider) rear vents.

It's possible that the diffuser itself in the same and the vent grilles themselves(separate part?) are wider and a lower extension is added under the grilles to connect the diffuser and the quarter panel.

Excellent points, and I had the same concerns. Ben told me that he spoke to an engineer at GM, and was told the part numbers are the same for the Z06 and Stingray. I guess the vents are a separate piece that "snaps in". So, I assume that means the width must be in the vents and fenders. Ben said "I'm 99% sure this will fit perfectly. If it doesn't, send it back and I'll refund your money." Thus, I figure that it really isn't a huge risk.

But, I'm keen to know if others can verify with 100% certainty, whether the part numbers are indeed a match.

My wife told me that the only way I could buy it is if it's bedazzled. Ben said his supplier will do it, but only if it's a quantity of 12. Is anyone interested in a group buy?

If someone can find out is the diffuser is the same part number, while they are at it can they find out if the front bumper cover is the same part number as well?

Maybe Ben will see this thread and chime in...

He did mention that he is working on some ideas regarding possibly fenders (pulling the fronts out to get rid of the black plastic extension) and the front end (different bumper and/or splitter). So, I assume he's given this some thought and may know the part numbers.

Great looking piece!

That is pretty hardcore to be ordering parts for a car that you have not even taken possession of.

I'd potentially be in for one - if I knew that it would match the CFV aero.

When it itches, I can't not scratch it BTW, the chick in your avatar looks like she may be a little hardcore as well.

Same dilemma for me. But, I've got a Katech spoiler and APR diffuser on my ZR1, all slightly different, yet it works fine because they're very similar and not right next to one another. I figure that if for some reason I don't like the naked CF, I can always shoot it Carbon Flash. In either case, I think It's an improvement over stock.

Ben, I've got a couple of questions:

1) Can you confirm that your diffuser adds 25 horsepower, and reduces drag by 25%

2) If we can get 10 buyers, will you sell at $999.99, freight and installation included?

Those are separate pieces like on the 460hp version and are reused with the carbon fiber.

So will your diffuser have the wider vents like the factory Z, or the narrow vents like the Stingray?
