Agreed. I wish the trim was black, no metal flake. If I end up going with the RaceMesh grilles again, I will have them done in gloss black, and have the rest of the trim painted to match.
IMO, the carbon flash doesn't look like that picture represents it. It's more black. I personally like the look and actually prefer it to exposed CF, which often has a brown tint.

I'm with you on this. Exposed carbon fiber is cool and all but it has a definite brownish hue in some lighting conditions. I prefer black.
I considered the black mirrors? But decided against them. Because there is so much other black trim on the car, the mirrors don't really affect the look. Just my .02 JD
I ordered CFZ because of the carbon flash already on the car- rear diffuser, air inlets and outlets. I agree that exposed cf can sometimes take on a brownish look.

shark gray one i saw in vegas was deffinately a brownish tint to the carbon
May be the same paint code.........? The lighting on these pictures make a lot of difference. I liked the color on the Centennial Z06.
I seriously considered the color for my V, but ended up with the Black Raven (a gorgeous color IMO).
The problem I ultimately had with the BD is I realized that at a glance and at a distance it looks like black with an overdose of water spots.
Anyone going with the carbon flash mirrors? Trying to decide on a white car if it would look odd or not...
I have seen several white cars and silver cars with carbon flash mirrors on dealer lots, and I think they look terrific. In my opinion, black mirrors are needed to "balance" the black bits on the car. Without them, you have black elements everywhere on the car except that large expanse in the middle. On white or silver that is more noticeable than on darker colors. I got black mirrors on the Shark Gray Stingray, though they aren't as distinctive on that color, and ordered them on the Blade Silver Z06.
It's not until your right up on it that you realize its a grey paint with black metallic hence Carbon Flash Metallic. The paint is always mentioned when I drive the car. But from a distance it looks nearly black. Following pic is of a zo6 centennial. I have cyber grey metallic Camaro and this CFM paint is a completely different level. Around 400 GS's 200 zo6 and 100 ZR1's were lucky enough to be covered in that magic. Zo6 below
