C7 Z06: Is this the least expensive 200mph new car?

Was it obvious to anybody else that the word "new" was in the title?
I, personally, don't give a crap if a "used" C6 ZR1 or Z06 can go 200 mph. But I guess some people have to try steer the discussion to a car they own to feel better. Same thing happens in the C7 quarter mile threads.

Hellcat
This may be common knowledge. I saw this when Jay Leno and the factory rep took one for a drive. With the half inch fuel line on the Hellcat it will burn one and a half gallons per minute when floored. You can basically run out of gas in less than 15 minutes.

I saw that video too.

However, pointless statistic. I know of no road I can go pedal to the metal for 15 minutes, nor would I be interested in doing so.

Guys the personal attacks and pissing matches are getting really old. It makes for terrible reading.
I've deleted the nonsense....please don't make me delete any more.
And I'm getting REALLY tired of it......got it?

Charger hellcat @64 grand with a top speed of 204 mph.
Not a fan of its new looks but both the charger and challenger hellcat have added a bit of fun and of course insanity to the American automotive marketplace...

FWIW I've been 0-188.5mph on GPS in my measly 447rwhp FRC on a 1.6 mile stretch and it was still increasing slowly as you really need about 3 miles to find terminal velocity, but ran out of clear runway...

Not sure what weather conditions GM official numbers are done in, but assume they are an average in both directions. I imagine with a tail wind and negative DA a stock C6Z could break 200...if not I've always believed it could with just a swap to base C6s narrower/lower rolling resistance wheels/tires.

322 km/hr on the A31 in western Germany in 2008. C6 Z06. At that speed, the gas gauge seemed to move down as fast as the speedo crept up after going into fifth gear.

The v10 BMW M5 (E60) did 205MPH when you turned off the speed limiter. I believe the MSRP for a typically-configured one was a bit lower than the Z06 although the gas guzzler tax may have pushed it over the Z06 price "base versus base."
The current M5 (F10) is gear/redline limited to ~190 MPH.

Simple, not enough space for a true v-max run. I believe multiple C6Zs have gone over 200 mph on the autobahn.

Hate to be the one maintaining a 100k mile old E60M5 though!

Then again, none of the magazines have gotten and Vette to their tops speeds either. Think the closest for a ZR1 was 198 mph.

Used, E60s are probably the cheapest factory cars that can hit 200 mph (average price well below C6Zs).

I don't know if the Z06 will be the least expensive 200mph car, but I DO know some of the more expensive ones:
