There have to be some Z06 Z07 C6 or ZR1 in the junk yard. Pull the calipers and buy the rotors and pads new. Cheapest and best way to do it imo.

I wouldn't rely on the C7 Z06 metal brakes for one reason. CCBs exist as an option, therefore GM has no reason to sell you a top notch metal brake set.

Corvettes are never gonna be "exclusive". Makes the Gen V Viper even more attractive. Damn, if its mpg wasn't so horrible. I need either the Z or the Gen V to be a daily driver, not a garage queen.

The C7 and C6Z07/ZR1 have the same size FRONT CCB brake rotors, so I'm betting it will be the same part number or at least interchangeable.

This is crazy!.... we haven't had one single customer delivery yet and there will be clones.
Here's an idea how about giving us the real thing before telling people how to fake it

What am I supposed to do with one ZR1 caliper? Make a paperweight? Do one wheel at a time? Plus the big ticket item is the CC rotors.

Lat time I checked awhile ago the entire setup, new for all 4 wheels, was around $8k (calipers pads and the CC rotor$). To me that is pricey. Maybe prices have come down since last time I looked.

Apparently, not an over the counter parts deal. So much for my poser Z07.
The guy at SEMA said they would be available via the GM performance catalog, just like the Z28 parts.

Biggest OEM GM part for the next two years is going to be that Z06 emblem stuck on every 10th base C7 Stingray.

Those and the pads are available at AMZN for less than you can get them anywhere else.

This is great....base car owners can build a Z06 minus the Spats.

Well, I didn't see where they could order the LT4 engine.

But if they can order the carbon ceramic brakes, why the heck can't we ordering a Z06 not able to also? Huh?

I don't see any cheating or posing. You buy the base coupe at the minimum. From there you either add options or buy a bulk package (Z06).

I'm glad GM is doing this. It allows everyone to fit their ideal car for the budget.

I hope that whenever the ZR1 comes out GM will release upgrade parts for the Z06 as well.

For those that bought Automatics and now are overheating at the track, GM is providing a solution.

All good on my end. Go GM.

This smells of an attempt at "lowering of unit prices". I would think someone willing to pay for the expensive brakes would not settle for anything less than the Z06 anyway.

They'll save the different Z06 body panels for the inevitable "middle model". I bet those cars will come with the standard red tail lights.

By chance, does anyone know where one could get the part numbers for the front and rear Z06 calipers for the steel rotors?

At least GM is putting this information out up front instead of blindsiding C6 Z06 owners after the fact with the Grand Sport clone.

But, it's starting to make the sleeper Challenger Hellcat look better and better. It doesn't need all of the add-ons to be cool.

In my view this is good news. I really agonized over whether to get a Z07 or not but while I wanted the CCB I didn't want the harsh ride and am on the fence about the big rear spoiler. I ended up ordering stage 1 due to CFV/CFZ constraints anyway.

I'm already planning on buying the Katech aero pieces once they come out and now it looks like I'll be able to upgrade to the CCB brakes. Total win/win.
