You can pulley down a ZR1 too! More power more heat!
From the guy who has been bashing the new z06 from day one. You said there wouldn't be any room to even mod the LT4. You said you would not be able to change the pulley on they LT4. Keep bashing.

Yes, the Z07 stage 3 aero package. That makes up what, single digit Z06 sales? The video tested against the viper had the Z06 with stage 1 aero, IE: actually less drag than the Viper. The Viper still won handily.
Do you have a link to where GM says the Z06/Z07 has 500 pounds of down force at 150 MPH?

You are fooling yourself if you really believe that! I owned an 09 Z06 with CAI and some other minor mods and there isn't a snowballs chance in hell it would smoke the C7 Z06 over 125.. Especially without the Z07 aero. Keep on talking and while your mouth is open, insert your foot because that is essentially what you are doing with absolutely no first hand experience. Er.. Talking out your a$$.

Default The New Z06 is King - Here's Why

This rant goes out to the group that has decided that buying the last-generation Z06 is the far-better investment than the new car, especially when you throw in a few performance modifications.

I hope all the people so negative on the car DON'T buy one so those of us that have can enjoy a little more exclusivity during our ownership experience.

Rant over! I'm new to the corvette world so maybe I don't know any better, but I can't believe the amount of BS that gets posted on this forum.
Well said, except for the Bose bit. Am I the only one that is very disappointed in the stereo? I did not expect greatness with the Bose name involved but I did expect better in my convertible. Oh well, there is always the never-gets-old mechanical soundtrack!

Not bashing the Z06 just there grabbing for excuses.
I on impulse just sold my 2014 Z51 in the last two weeks with an A&A kit to order a Z06.
NOW
Seeing the slower than expected to 150 and the Viper beating it
in every contest. Didn't thrill me I'll likely still get one but no hurry
one of my homes garage is getting a nice upgrade to around 45 feet long by 22 wide. So 4 cars fit easier. While that gets done I'm waiting.
A left over manual under MSRP In march could have my name on it after everyone who is buying a manual gets one.

No I didn't say you could not I said might not be able to. The bashing was huge on the ZR1.

Love mine too! The car you can't sell! Thought I was selling it 2-3
times and it just is a good memory I'm keeping around . Plus it is easy to make very fast.
I am pondering firing up another build on it.
Has a ZR1 clutch and pinned crank. Some heads and another kit is so tempting.

So there may be fairly simple fixes for the c7 z06 in regards to heat soaking. Some other things that might help could be going to colder thermostat, having the fans come on sooner or more often.

SO AFTER I BUY A Z06 and its 80 degrees at the track, FIX GM'S PROBLEM FOR THEM?

Default Sorry guys but this is not a z06. It's a Zr1 - track version

Though not new to the performance car game, I'm fairly new to the corvette world in terms of that I've truly only owned one model, the 2008 z06 for 4 years now. So maybe my lack of extensive knowledge of corvettes may provide a more accurate review to this new c7 z06. Kind of like a blind test or having a fresh eye.

In any case I personally think that just cause I put a z06 badge on a car, does not make it a z06. When I hear z06...LS7 7.0 liter NA with super light chassis automatically pops into my head. Perfect baseline attributes for both track and 1/4 mile assuming you know how to setup car and drive it in these scenarios.

When I hear c7 z06...I think c6 zr1 with new body and z06 badge. Thats really all this car is. Its LT4 6.2 liter supercharger with heavier chassis compared to c6 z06 screams ZR1 to me. So maybe the main cause for this outrage and disappointment towards the new c7 z06 is not the fact that it under-performs, but that its really not a true z06.

It reminds me of when nissan came out with the GTR and calling it a skyline. It doesn't even come close to the swag of the r33/r34. R35 is a decent car, but don't call it a skyline....call it an infinity r35s (s for sport)..lol

In conclusion, you just can't take a legend like a LS7 z06 n gut out its heart n soul. Then replace with something totally opposite and still identify it in the same context. Anyone that thinks that this new c7 z06 is a z06 let alone a successor is in for a disappointment...and I think its evident in this forum. Just my 2 cents.

I've got a superior C6Z that I will graciously trade for a C7Z for anyone that feels cheated by the performance of your new Z. Hell, I'm feeling generous-- I won't even ask you to kick in any money.

Z06Wolf,

Disclaimer: I placed an order for a Z06 w/Z07. My dealer and salesperson is at a loss. I've not cancelled my order, but I am disheartened by GM's deceptive and, flat- out, false advertising.
Right after my doctor's appointment tomorrow morning I head to the Chevy dealer with a bunch of pages I've printed from various reports and telling my salesguy to CANCEL the order. Its at 3400 right now and if he hurries he can maybe stop it, otherwise, when it gets here I don't even want to see it. Don't even think about talking to me about it because it would just **** me off more.
