Default CFZ is on restraint?

My dealer told me that I can't get my car picked up unless I drop the CFZ package. They won't do CFZ or CFV? Now what do I do? Can I get all the effects aftermarket? This through me for a loop. Any others out here with the same problem that could advise me? Cecil.............

I was in the same situation. So I plan on either waiting til the parts are available from GM, or possibly getting them from an aftermarket company like ACS (Advanced Composites). I've been in contact with them and they told me the replica side skirts are available now and the front splitter should be available in 3-4 weeks. They are going to offer it in "carbon flash" as well.

There are a couple other companies (Caravaggio and Katech) that will be offering them in CFV (visible carbon fiber) only.

It probably wasn't on constraint at Hendricks. They are a very large dealer and are less likely to have something on constraint than the smaller dealers.

This makes me feel a little better. It looks like I can get it aftermarket or through a larger dealer since its all put on after the car arrives. Thanks, Cecil.........

Follow my thread here. I have pics and contact information in regards to the aftermarket Carbon Fiber exterior parts. Really good information. Don't worry about the restraints. Get your car and be happy. I did!!!

Maybe someone can post the current constraints?

It pays to dig a little deeper...

First, does your dealer have a current allocation, did he submit your order to that allocation, or is he just entering your order into the GM system and is making a suggestion?

Only when an allocation becomes available is an order possibly going to get picked up. Orders that fit within the percentages of the constraints will be picked up. Your dealer can then adjust your order to fit if you agree.

When my dealers allocation came up they asked for my order. I was familiar with the constraints thanks to this forum. Several constraints could have affected my order. Painted roof, CFZ painted ground effects, A8, and cf dash were a few. The most constrained item was the CFZ without the Z07 package at 25%. They placed two orders, one with and one without. Luckily, the one with the option was picked up.

You don't get paid to run their business but you probably should. Unfortunately, you need to understand where they are in the ordering process to know if they BS'ing you or not.

If you are forced to pass on CFZ don't feel bad. The aftermarket offers equivalent products at a lower price. Win-win. You also can always buy GM items at a discount through forum vendors.

My order was supposed to go in today. I had the CFZ as well. Haven't heard anything from the dealer. But they are the 7th largest vette sealer in the country, so maybe I slipped though. I will keep my fingers crossed.

My dealer has an allocation and it will be accepted if he takes out the CFZ configuration. I got a lot of reply's showing sources for the packages I'm looking for. Thanks to all of you. You've been a great help. I went ahead and ordered the car without the constraint.

YEAH, BOY! Don't let the GM vendor constraints stand between you and your ride!

BTW, what is your configuration?

The constraint reports are routinely posted on the forum. Since the constraint report covers both Stingray and Z06 it is posted in C7 General.

Car is now at 2000 and I ordered Laguna Blue Coupe, 2LZ, Dark Grey, A8. Hopefully, in a month and a half, it will be home. No added mark up over MSRP and this is in Ca. Cecil............

Good Work Cecil. The closest I got to MSRP was $20k over in SoCal.

Got mine from Kerbeck and now she is waiting on all the Carbon Fiber goodies from APR Performance!

On a consensus Thursday when the dealer is cleared to order a Z06 he is also told what constrained items he is granted. For example, my dealer was granted a Z06, the Z07 option, but no CFZ or CFV without the Z07. My order was for non-Z07 with CFZ. I dropped the CFZ to have the order move forward, knowing that I could add the CFZ later from GM or aftermarket.

Now that I've had the car for more than a month, my inclination is to NOT add the CFZ as I seem to prefer the looks w/o it. Option is still there to add later.

So, I wouldn't hesitate to drop the CFZ to keep your order moving.

One other aspect of the order process that I learned is if the dealer is offered a constrained option, he needs to put it in the order system by Saturday night even though the order doesn't have to be locked in until Tuesday. If he doesn't use the constrained option by Saturday, it goes into a pool to be used by other dealers.

I had the same problem so I dropped the CFZ and will get it on the aftermarket. I found out that my A8 was finished this morning and got my VIN, S/N 2723.
