Default First time drags

I took my new Z06 to the drags last saturday, 4/2/15, at auto club raceway which is in Fontana, CA. Mine is an A8, 3lz, with Z07. I used MT ET 11 streets, 315x30x18. The tires hooked well, only 1 of 4 runs had any wheel spin, and that may have been an oil down. I used Track mode, traction control disabled and left at full throttle.

The DA was 3560 and it was 85F. There was 1 other Z06 racing with an MN7. He had trouble hooking with 345 DR's and only managed an 11.60.

My best run was 11.1 @ 124 with a 60 ' of 1.67. Based upon the sea level conversion factor, it would be equal to about 10.70. I know the car will run 10's with a little better weather. As anyone who races in SoCal should know, Fontana is not a very fast strip.

Way to go Conmax, your off to a great start and those are some very respectable times (nice 60 foot) for your first 4 runs in the car at a slow track in Fontana, CA, with really crappy air.

ive only gotten to the track once with my m7 during a day time event in south florida not sure what DA was but it had to be 80 degrees or so . ran a couple of 11.3's with stock non cup tires and just barely broke 124 mph which was the lowest mile per hour I had seen till your runs . clearly these cars like cold air .

yes, that was my PDR video. the 1-2 shift was at redline of 6500, but the others were less. as far as i know, there is nothing that can be done to ensure that each shift is at redline. if the manual mode is used, the shifts are much slower.

it also shifts to 5th right at the timing traps. i probably should have gone with the hoosier 330/35x18's. they are a little taller and wider. the MT 315's that i have are 1" shorter and 1" narrower than the cup 2's. part of the reason for going with the MT 315's was because Kyle and Fartpipe used them on their ZR1 record runs.

i am looking forward to running in some better air soon. i just don't like driving so far to the strip on the DR's. they move sideways too much on the freeway. i will just have to bring a chase car with the DR's.

i would consider running the cup 2's at the drags, except that fontana is very hard to hook with other than DR's.
