Most tracks will have a pump dispensing unleaded higher octane fuel. Pricey yes, but worth the piece of mind to minimize the risk of knock IMHO.

This is basically true. I worked on a tank farm that supplied all but Standard Oil gas to stations. Many brands had specific additive, although the amount is very small. About a quart/8000 gallons in a tank truck. I've always believed the 'Top tier' stuff is more clever marketing than anything. JMHO
