I consider myself to be an automotive enthusiast with zero fanboi loyalties. I had a 2006 C6 Z06 for 5 years which I tracked quite a bit....fantastic car that never had a fault, alarm or warning. Like the small percentage here who actually use the car for its' intended design, I'm very disappointed in the current issues with the new Z. My deposit goes in for an ACR Viper tomorrow morning. When, or if, GM sorts out the issues, I would gladly take the wheel of something new that doesn't embarrass itself on a track in limp mode. I love the technology, design and heritage of the new Corvette.....just wish they would have lived up to the marketing hype. For now, the waxers and C&C crowd have a winner on their hands.....while us track guys have to try and re-engineer cooling systems or look for another toy. The Viper has had a few initial problems as well, but I feel confident that it will be fantastic on the track like my old Z06 was.
Here's hoping a fix comes along sooner than later.

Okay lets. If you have owned an ACR and driven it on the streets like I have you know it's very easy to drive anywhere, what I don't get is why would anyone worry about such a thing? If I am buying an ACR I am doing so to track it and if I feel like street using I will, but it certainly is not the primary reason to own one.

Don't make chit up just because you fan boys will soon have a very inferior "new" product that will be yesterdays news fast!!!

Safety Car
With that said, it's the same old story for the ZR1 and Gen IV ACR. The Viper will be the better track car and the Corvette will be the better street car. The numbers this Viper will put out will be staggering though, it's going to DOMINATE the circuit. Big props to dodge for not watering down the Viper and still making a car for true performance enthusiasts. Something the new Z06 has fallen short on with it's overheating issues.

Big talk for a new member trolling the forums with Viper fanboy posts.

With that said..., I contemplated getting a new Z06 or a Z28 because I wanted what amounts to a dedicated track car, the Z put itself out with all the track related concerns. Now that this ACR is going to be produced it will be the car I buy. And yes it will dominate the Z06 in every category in my opinion.

You could have left the first sentence out, what does it matter if I am 1 day, 1 month or 10 years as a member?

And if that's your opinion, it isn't worth much. The ACR will be based on the Gen V and there is no doubt the Z06 has better street manners, better street presence, better amenities (especially over an ACR track special) and unlikely SRT builds anything to match the PDR in the Z06. So that's a solid fail on your part.

As well as that, seems these are STREET cars first, the Z06 is 10 times what an ACR is on the street and yet can post times that are faster than the Mclaren 650S, Ferrari 458 Speciale, Lambo Huracan, 911 Turbo S by 2 sec a lap as it just did in Germany and then drive across Europe in total comfort and luxury.
Go on the Viper forums is you wanna show yourself sucking on that ACR *****.

It matters because I doubt the mods are going to dish out bans because a 2 month old troll posters feelings got hurt. They do read the forums too you know.

So let me ask you, have you owned an ACR and driven it both on the track and street...I have. Have you driven a Gen V (me yes) or a new Z (me no) for that matter. No way in hell does the Z have better amenities and as far as street usage that is up to the driver and what they like. As for the PDR, well it seems where it really excels is showing a Z owner when their car starts to overheat.
