I have had the car about a month, and from day 1 the following has occurred:
When I start the car (standard), especially when it is cold, I will push the start button and the car sounds like it is 'stuck' trying to start. Than after about 3-5 seconds it catches and the car starts. I have never had this happen on any prior corvettes. Is something wrong, or is this normal? Is there something I should be doing to avoid this 'stuck starter' noise, such as 1st pumping the gas, etc.? Thank you.
Normal for direct injected engines, until fuel rail pressure is at desired amount the injectors are not commanded on. GM put out a chart that shows typical delay prior to ignition based upon ambient temperature.

I noticed it takes a few seconds when cold but seems normal.
Welcome to direct injection, the electric pump builds pressure in 1-2 seconds, but the mechanical pump requires the engine to be cranked for a few seconds. It is also driven by the camshaft that is turning 1/2 the speed of the crank.....very normal. I suspect a shorter starter life compared to earlier models but that's about it.
