Thanks. I plan on starting a new thread to post my results. I'll probably call it something like "Results with Ron Davis Radiator\Fasterprom Thermal Plates".

I think intentions were good. But this is not a good way for the information to be seen/discussed, cuz it's buried in a morass of disjointed, disparate topics.

Don't know if the original individual threads could be resurrected or not - which would be better than this. If not, that is a shame. The loss of that info will only be compounded tho, by the effective loss of future info if such also gets swept into here.

Would be a lot more useful to have individual threads on any overheating issue as at least that way people can understand/narrow down: 1) set-up of the car; 2) what track it was on; 3) ambient temps; 4) PDR info; 5) telemetry on the specific car etc. and then, perhaps more importantly, any changes and adjustments made later that worked or improved that car's performance could be discussed in the individual threads. What we have here is worst of both worlds - circumstances of overheating lost/buried, and any follow-up lessons learned/improvements/mods that help it disjointed from the origin post and buried in this morass.

What a mess this has turned out to be! Real people have real issues with overheating, and rather than a service to help those who need it and move the issue forward with possible solutions, we get a monster Mega Merge with tons of totally unrelated stuff.

Exactly who benefits from this?

I had a thread bookmarked about Motor Trend reporting a Z06 that over heated, and when I clicked on it I ended up at page one of this thread! Yep...A post from almost one year ago about Porsche!

Yet I'm waiting to see if my '16 GT3 allocation happens to replace my TT. Also think some of their pricing is a bit much, but they sell so that's pretty relative. Porsches aren't perfect, no car is. But some people here don't like that narrative, even though they don't or won't ever own one.
The GT4 is cool, but I am more interested in the GT350 and ACR right now. The latter would replace my Z06, BUT, I am waiting to see a few things before committing.

What is the list of issues have you seen that required modification with your C7Z 8speed for track days? That would be interesting since you have first hand experience and track it.

Nice.
With a heavy hitter like motor trend publicly calling out the issue under normal driving conditions, GM will have to issue a statement.

Even if its just, "we are aware , and taking a hard look in to it," I would feel so much better.

Default Engine running hot

When driving in 90+ degree weather I can feel the engine is running very hot, even after its back in the garage it’s hot for hours. I heard its normal but I still don’t like it. Is it good idea to change or take out the thermostat, is that a good option someone tried?

What are your engine coolant and engine oil temps while driving?

The gage is over the middle while driving. At ideal it even higher. I haven't check the coolant.

I don't even know what this thread means.
What is "hot"? 190*...200*...250*?
Why would you want to take out the thermostat?

The "gage" is over the middle? Are you throwing a pass to the tight end?

At "ideal" it even higher?

Come on really???

Check your temps using the digital gauge readouts so you know what the temp really is. Feeling really hot is anything over 120 deg. The readability and resolution of the analog gauge displays are poor at best. You can switch the instrument panel to show the info in digital format.
