Default Front Splitter

Just wondering, do all new Z06's come with a front splitter? The one I bought is a 2016 and has none. Was that an option decided by the dealer?

If window sticker has 2995.00 or 3995.00 option for carbon flash package or carbon fiber visible package it should come with splitter, skirts, and wickerbill/s

Mine says: Exterior - Rear spoiler, front splitter but I don't see a front splitter. Am I missing something? It does have the spoiler. Is the splitter and the lip 2 different parts?

I think all Z06s should come with at least the stage 1 splitter that is black plastic, not carbon fiber.

If it was there, you could not miss it... Dealer may have just failed to install it.

Yes, the black plastic splitter is a separate piece from the body color bumper..

I might be wrong, but I think the dealer installs the splitter as part of the pdi. They are shipped with the splitter in the trunk so they don't get damaged during shipment.

I ordered my 2016 Zo6 splitter as a stage 2 option $2995.00. It was shipped with the car but the dealer installed it....The plan is to keep it from being damaged during shipment.
Hope that helps.

The plastic splitter is stock on all Z06's and comes in the rear hatch with the rear spoiler end parts. Also the 3 piece air dam and 2 front deflectors that mount on the a frame are in the hatch. All these parts are installed by dealer. If you bought a convertible they may be shipped separately.

Then I will go back to the dealer because the front splitter is not on this car. It was not in the trunk, either. The clear plastic wickerbill and license plate holders were the only things. Thanks!

My front splitter was shipped separately from the car. I believe this is common. You definitely are owed one.

All Z06s come standard with the stage 1 front splitter, located under the front bumper fangs.

Are you sure a three piece air dam comes with the car, and not just the two small air dams that are mounted directly in front of the tires?

The two {air} deflectors mount on the lower control arms, I believe, and not on the frame.

All Z06's come with a splitter, but only the base Z06 has the stage 1 splitter.

If the Z06 has the stage 2 aero option or the Z07 option, then it does not have a stage 1 splitter, as those two options have a completely different design splitter.

My stage 1 Z06 came with 3 air dams, 2 outer and 1 long center and yes those all mount to the frame. I see here on the forum that the stage 2 and3 aero packages don't get the center air dam, probably due to the aggressiveness of the front splitter .There were 2 other air deflectors that mount on the A frames too, seem to direct air to the rotors.
I know this because I helped with the installation of all these parts.

If you look closely to the right on the lower A frame you can see part of that air deflector, most of the deflector is on top of the lower A frame so you can't see it. Only pic I could find and its a bad pic....LOL...You can also see my center air dam

I have '15 Z06 vert with CFV chin splitter and side skirts. It has almost 4,600 miles on, driven through/in 8 states to date, without incident.

Also have two C6's with ZR1 splitter and side skirts. The '13 has 19 & 20" wheels. The '05, whick has 18 & 19" wheels, has more than 81k original miles through 37 states (several times). The only place the front splitter got scraped (mostly on the underside) was in California, where every intersection is cupped for rainwater runoff (also where roads & parking lots meet).

I have driven over speed bumps, on occasion. If you stop, and then ease your way over the speed bump, you should be fine, as well.

The reason I asked if you were sure is because Tuesday of last week, I watched a PDI being done on a stage 1 2016 Z06. I watched the tech that was doing the PDI open the rear hatch, unload the contents, spread them out in front of the car, and install them. I didn't see a center air dam.

Today, I had the opportunity to check 4 Z06's at my local dealer. 3 new 2016's that were delivered this week and a 2015 Z07 that belongs to a friend. The Z07 did not have the center air dam. Of the 3 2016's, 2 were stage 1 and the other was a stage 2. None of those 3 Z06's had a center air dam.

They all had the two small air dams that are located directly in front of the tires, and the two air deflectors that are mounted on the lower control arms.

On the Z51, the center air dam, that is found on the Stingray(without Z51) is not used as it would block the air that is needed to hit the face of the air deflectors that are mounted on the lower control arms. The Z06, no matter what stage, is the same.

This has come up in earlier threads, some stage 1 Z's came with center air dam and others didn't. Since it was in the hatch we put it on, I don't know what if any effect it has on my Z. My Z runs at 195 degrees on 90* days and in stop and go traffic in the same heat in NYC traffic my car rarely goes over 202*. That may be because I don't use a front plate.
Do you know why it's there?

My 2014 C7 Z51 didn't have the center air dam and the non Z51 did.
