Anyone having issues keeping the gas pump flowing? I've been to 2 separate gas stations and no matter how I adjust the pump handle, the pump will cut off as if the tank was full. Felt like a retard trying to fill my tank and people start looking at me funny...
Yea, happens. Just pull the spout back out a little and you should be fine. Just a little. Don't take a gas bath. And if you don't already have one you should have a fire extinguisher handy. I just pop my hatch while I'm there. I keep a couple of Fireade's back there. I'm going to start a thread about this stuff. It is remarkable!!!
Here is one of my local Corvette Club buddies with a can. And i'm getting distributor pricing for now and am happy to be able to sell them at jobber prices.
Anyone interested can PM me.
Thanks,
David
I have never had an issue refueling my Z06. Lock the nozzle on, when it shuts off, the tank is full. Might want to check with the dealer. I have a friend that bought an identical car (we picked them up together at the museum) and his is fine as well. Might be an issue with your particular car.
I had the same problem when I had a fuel pump replaced in a car before. They dropped the tank, replaced the pump/sending unit and hooked the tank back up. During my first fillup after the tank re-install, I could barely pump any gas without it kicking off the pump. Took it back and they adjusted/readjusted some sort of relief valve. Filled flawlessly afterwards. If that valve/relief mechanism isn't adjusted correctly, you'll have the same problem.
There was and issue with 2014 C7's. GM states there may be an issue with the anti-siphon grid in the fuel fill pipe moving and becoming located deeper in the fuel pipe or dislodged and moving to the bottom of the fuel tank. GM will replace the fuel fill pipe and check that the grid is not in the fuel tank.
It usually kicks at least 3 or 4 times per fill with me. I found that holding the nozzle up and in instead of leaving it to hang off the valve really helps.
