Realize this is a super old thread. Isn't a single quick push simply TC off but Active Handling stays on? A long push (5+ seconds) turns off all the nannies (both TC and AH)?

Pulling the fuses is the simplest and easiest way to verify whether it is or not and you can do that in your driveway with your Sunday clothes on.

My C5 never displayed anything on the DIC when the traction control kicked in. On the C5 it was very intrusive and the car would lay over on it's face when the rear tires broke loose. I think there was a icon on the dashboard that illuminated though.

My C6 Z06 also does not display anything on the DIC when the traction control kicks in. Same with the icon on the dashboard. The traction control in not near as intrusive on my Z06 as it was on the C5, and all it does is limit the severity of the tires spinning.

I really doubt that the C7 operates any differently than my C6 as it worked pretty good. I can still spin the tires ll the way through 1st gear, I just don't blow them off, as what would happen if I turned the traction control off.

I think the Op has a problem with his car, as it shouldn't lay over when he starts spinning the rear tires.

Even my Mercedes sedan has the icon that illuminates when the rear tires start spinning, but the car doesn't fall on it's face.

Both of my C5s displayed Traction Sys Active and the C6 displayed Traction Active when the rear tires spun. You have to be looking at the DIC when the wheels are spinning to see the message.

From the C5 Service Manual:
Bottom line shows Traction Sys Active message that is one of the many DIC messages.
