7 is just too many gears to shift through. I feel more control with my A8.
If I want to shift I go back to my 67, 350/4sp. W/sidepipes( chambered), no cats. Nothing like it. At least for 20-30 miles.....

Actually, it's more like a 4-Speed. Perfect H pattern. Rarely ever use 7th

In normal driving there is just no need to go through all the gears. If accelerating up to highway speed I usually am at my target speed in 4th and just go straight into 6th or 7th. But once you know the car, the 7 gears are nice because there is always a perfect gear for any situation.

yes......you need to know the car before you can maximize the M7. But for those that like manuals, that is part of their attractiveness. You need to know the car and be connected to what the drivetrain is doing and can do. For those that don't like manuals, that is seen as a negative.

As far as resale .. I think for a private sale the M7 would be easier to sell .. for a trade-in sale .. the A8 will of course bring more money since the MSRP was higher.
Better check again a proper driven M7 with traction has the top time on the stock with tires fast list!

Most people choose what they want for their own individual reasons.
Had 15 M7 Z06 BLAST TO DRIVE! Very engaging. You definitely felt like you were one with the car. Was challenging to say the least to stay consistent.

Summers on Long Island drive car every day unless its raining. Office is 40 miles each way. So left leg was taking a beating!! After 30 years of manuals, I was hanging up my clutch
But big reason was racing the GTR, Hellcats, and an A8 Z06. Even if I could get out of hole even I would lose just a little ground every shift (no lift shifts with MGW)

Now in my 16 A8 my same friends in these same cars. The race has become dead even.....My Z even edges out these cars now.
I like to race!! So the A8 is a faster Z!

3Z06Zr1 do you have a link to show us the 1 homerun fastest M7 please.
Not trying to be a d!@k just have not seen that.
As far as I know stock tire records
Record A8 10.41
Record M7 10.54

Have not in last full year seen #'s even close to that
bye anyone else in M7

Personally, I'd rather see all corvette orders as M7's, maybe then the fact that manual trannies won't be disappearing. Example, the Cadillac CTS-V once came with a manual, however Cadillac in their infinite wisdom cancelled it probably due to the lack of orders. A sedan with a corvette supercharged engine and you can only get it in an automatic, what a waste. Yes computers are faster, but car enthusiasts drive cars for pleasure. I'm hoping that it never happens in the Corvette super car lines.

Thats one thing the A8 guys wont tell you about...all the disappointing looks they get from people when they tell them "no i didnt get the stick".
Funny, I paid for the car and I bought what I want. What someone else thinks really don;t matter to me. Opinions are like A$$holes, everyone's got one and they all stink.
