Yup your figuring it out. They make it sounds like a smoking deal until what your forced to buy. BUT, really if your spending the dollars for the Z07 you most likely will be tracking the car or similar. The Aero package is an integral part of it then. If your buying it just for the ceramics, wow I will take some of that wasted money!

Yup, I'll likely never track my car and have a Z07.. . Loved the CCBs on my ZR1 and like the looks. Personally for me - none of this is a necessity., including the car.
I'll likely, never explore the limits of a base C7 let alone a Z06. But I have the $$ and got every option I wanted.
If you don't want, need or have the cash don't get the option. IMO, the C6Z I owned was more than capable from a performance perspective.
Love the looks of the Aero and I love the CCB's. Please don't take this the wrong way, but if you were haggling over $10,000, you should think twice about if you can afford the car. Get what you want, you only live once.
No brainer for me. I don't track but I DRIVE the car. To me it was the thought of not getting it and regretting it later. Glad I did cause it adds so much appeal from the aero to the look of the brakes and their performance. No brake dust is huge.
Looks like this Z07 discussion will never end....... Thread after thread. There will never be a "right" answer. Everyone that gets it or doesn't will have their own reasons to justify their thinking. Location, budget, to how sensitive your butt is, a plethora of reasons/excuses for or against. If you want it, get it. If not, don't.
^^^ Welcome to the world of internet forums. I've been posting on forums since the late 90's. It's just the way it is. People talking, multiple conversations. People love talking.

It appears you MUST choose either CFZ or CFV with Z07 therefore cost of Z07 package is REALLY $10,000-$11,000 more. Right? Bert
The Z07 option or Track Package is designed for those that wish to track the Z06. And of course there is a cost associated with that purchase.
With its soft, low mileage Cup tires, wheel barrow suspension for taking those turns at high speed, Stage III aero ground effects that makes the Batmobile pale in comparison and of course the carbon ceramic brakes that must be handled with a great deal of TLC....yes the Z07 option is for the ultimate enthusiast.
While not an upgrade for the street it certainly will be a valuable addition if you plan to track the car.
Good luck with the purchase and show us your car once you get it!
Doesn't the Z07 include a somewhat hand built engine like the C6 ZR1? I also understand the suspension is different with higher rate springs, larger sway bars and different mag shocks of which could not be added to a non Z07 car.

I was told by a couple dealers when inquiring about a new order that spending the extra $500 for the Z07 option over the $7495 for the carbon brake J57 option would be alone worth it for the added resale value .

If you got the cash buy exactly what you want and never look back

Hand built by one person at Bowling Green and you get a plate with their name on it, as opposed to hand built by two people (one on each side) in Tonawonda with no plate.

I agree, no brake dust is turning out to be HUGER than huge. After 160 miles, NO DUST. I battle tons of dust on my C6 Z06 - pretty much after every drive. If you show your car, this is huge. Of course, if you track your car, even more reason to get the carbon ceramics.
I am right in the middle of making this decision on the Z07 option. I won't track the car but want the extras and resale value of the Z07. There is a $5,000 rebate this month but the time is ticking only a few hours to figure it out.
