GM Credit Card now allows $5,000
Save $5000 on a new Corvette if you have a GM card and accumulated that many points. I got a check for $3000 last year when I bought mine.

That's good to know. I also understand the new gm buy power card allows for unlimited accumulation ...5 percent for the first five grand spent...then 2 percent for the rest of each calendar year.
Unlimited amounts to be accumulated for each vehicle purchased.
I like it better that way.
I've heard this year on the old card...this years not a 3 grand top off but rather a 750 bonus if that matters...

Let's be clear, is this a change to the points you can accumulate on the card, or is it a change to the number of points that are allowed to redeemed on a single purchase.
I have one of the old cards, and was allowed to use the entire $4k+ points on my 2016 Z06 I took delivery in July 2015.
I have really made out well with the GM Card over the past 20 years, especially since I have always paid off my purchases the month they were charged. I have redeemed over $25k in points over the years.
Please note the following on the usage of points for purchase of the Z06:
What was interesting is that my online go card redemption page did not list the points as eligible on a Z06, as did the GM redemption center rep I initially spoke with. It wasn't until I asked and spoke with her supervisor, who looked at my account and said "sure", you can use your points on a Z06. She then told me there was no limit to the amount of rebate balance I could use.
When I went to close the deal at the dealership there was absolutely no problem in using it.

2015 C7 of the Year Finalist
I have a GM card that gives me 5% on all purchases with no limit. I used 3k on my 2014 C7 and then a year later I accumulated another 3k which I used on my 2015 Z06.
Now reading this I will try to accumulate 5k for my next Vette which I plan on buying after the new paint shop is completed, probably April 2017.

I have a older gm card and got a bonus 2000 offer today. I can use the 3000 allowed from card because of the 3000 dollar corvette redemption allowance plus the bonus 2000 dollars equaling 5ooo. If not for the bonus I can only use the 3000.

I did the GM card and dropped about $1k of points on my purchase. Not a fan of the card. 5% on the first couple k, then 1 to 2% after that (forget which).
My discover is 1% cashback on everything with 5% on a lot of random stuff, works out to a little over 2%. . . and I can spend that on anything I want, not just a GM product.

I have the original card that gives me 5% on anything with no limit. I just used $3000 a few months ago for my 2016 Z06 and 6 months for my 2015 Escalade. I have used several thousands on other GM vehicles. I haven't received anything about being able to use $5000 towards a Corvette. Does anyone know if it is just on Corvettes or can you use it on trucks?? I have been thinking about getting a truck with a plow.

The GM Card sucks. Always has, always will. Save way more money with countless other cards that offer more flexibility with rewards and don't expire your points because every time you want to buy a GM the particular model is not made eligible.
(Can you tell I'm bitter lol)

This is a targeted offer for SOME cardholders only and it is only good through the end of February 2016. Please revise your post so others know the correct information.

Why would you want to to get a different card. Like I said above I have saved thousands of dollars on GM vehicles. I just got an application in the mail for Chase Freedom card. Offering 0% interest for 15 months. Then they offer so much when you get gas and groceries. I write my gas off so that doesn't mean **** to me. Bottom line is think the GM is awesome.

I have the old World Card which lets me earn up to 500 points per year for a total of 7 years. Depending on when you get credited for a purchase and the anniversary date you can actually get a little more than that total. This year I had 3600 and Ally topped it off with another 400 and I got a 4K rebate on my new Terrain.
