They built the **** out of Z06's. 14,275 of them in 2016 and 8,653 of them in 2015, and a bunch or sitting on the dealer's showroom floors, unsold. Now that Tadge has said changes are being made to the 2017's to address the overheating problems, that should make it very difficult for the dealers to get rid of their unsold 2016's without having a fire sale on them.
That won't help the resale value of a 2015 or a 2016; M7 or A8.
The 2017's priced will be even less and more around just wait a year.
By then might be time for another.
An assumption on my part based upon your keenness for mods.
Well it is a totally wrong assumption. The M7 will last longer than any A8
and will never need a rebuilding that part is for sure. I assume your car never sees over 5k on the way to cars and coffee.
What I find interesting is 1 1/2% of the Corvettes were delivered by the Museum. If they were able to sell the car, they'd be the #3 dealer... I enjoyed the Museum delivery this year, but had no idea it was so popular.

Those numbers are hardly building the **** out of them?
Compared to about any mass produced car.
Try instead saying those are low low numbers compared to most other cars. Then the supposed new cooling features only matter to a small few. That will make no difference on sales.
Because GM finally realized all the potential buyers of their Z06 if they were to provide an automatic, and they've jumped on it.
Not everyone is interested in clutching their way thru city traffic (and I don't want to get into a M7/A8 discussion here), and a lot of the buyers are mature (average age of a corvette owner a couple of years ago was about 50ish).
My last standards were an 88 GTA and a 79 Pontiac Gran Prix (with a factory Hurst) but since then, due to a clutch leg knee injury I've been running automatics.
Depending on your need, either one in these beasts are great!
Not only that, but I'd bet the majority of younger drivers on the road today don't even know, or care to know, how to drive a standard.
I see one every morning when I go out to my garage. Seriously, I haven't seen that many in our area either. I went on a tour of the plant last week in Bowling Green and they mentioned the AW is the #1 color. Pretty amazing place.

Must be an Eastern thing...
Out here the #1 color for Vettes historically has been red.
As far as C7s are concerned, I hardly ever see one around town.
