The final 2016 statistics are out! If you're as curious as I was about how many of whatever was made, you can find it here. By the way, there were only 251 Daytona Sunrise Orange Z06's made!! I like that number!

Interesting numbers thanks Elaine! It surprised me to see that your color only comprised 2% of total sales. When I ordered my Z my original color preference was the Daytona Sunrise but when the sales guy entered my order into the computer, a message popped up that said "colored out". He said that meant that GM was no longer taking orders for that particular color on the Corvette and that I had to select another. Running a close second for me was the Longbeach Red so I went with that and I absolutely love it so it's all good.

Thanks for the link... I, as you do, have the DSOM Z06.. and mine being a convertible is 1 of only 52.. whoop whoop.. thinking if take into account the other options would be even less.. liking those numbers!
Interesting to see there were only 243 shark gray convertibles like mine made and even less with the 7 speed,Adrenaline red int and Comp seats..maybe i should keep this one a while

Your Vette is beautiful good luck with it!
Hi,
The C7 DSOM had a short life. It wasn't even available until Nov. 2014 so that cut the 2015 DSOM models. Then it was discontinued and couldn't be ordered at all after Dec. 17, 2015. That contributed to the low numbers.
The earlier DSOM color came out in 2005 and continued through 2006 and then was discontinued. I owned two 2005 Daytona Sunset Orange convertibles. When I heard it was coming back in 2015, I jumped at it and bought a 2015 DSOM coupe. Kept it a year and just found this 2016 Z06 with only 7 miles! I was ecstatic as it was exactly what I would have ordered.
The color isn't for everyone, but boy, everyone loves it!

You definitely have a very low production convertible!! That will keep that car right up there in value!
I hate to be a "downer" here, but: no it won't. In reality these days: no one cares about how rare a modern Corvette's configuration is when it comes to resale. Maybe in another 30 or so years, but definitely not right now.
Enjoy your car, and stop worrying about how "rare" it is.

I totally disagree with you. I sell Corvettes, and I know what is attractive to buyers and what isn't!! In fact, I have owned three DSOM cars prior to this one, and they sold within a day or two. Why? The color!
Oh, and by the way, this Z06 is my 14th Corvette...and I have enjoyed every one, no matter how common or how rare they were!

Don't care how rare it is, just interesting to know how few people ordered/bought the same car..
However, that being said, I do think buyers like to know that they aren't going to be driving down the street and see dozens of identical cars. In fact, the last two I sold were to buyers who wanted to know the production numbers. Last one I sold was 1 of 109 (and less if look at the trim/options).. the buyer was pretty excited about that number.
This is what stood out to me too.
Relatively small number of manuals. Seems we need a thread to find out why....
Thanks for posting this Elaine.
Why?
Because GM finally realized all the potential buyers of their Z06 if they were to provide an automatic, and they've jumped on it.
Not everyone is interested in clutching their way thru city traffic (and I don't want to get into a M7/A8 discussion here), and a lot of the buyers are mature (average age of a corvette owner a couple of years ago was about 50ish).
My last standards were an 88 GTA and a 79 Pontiac Gran Prix (with a factory Hurst) but since then, due to a clutch leg knee injury I've been running automatics.
Depending on your need, either one in these beasts are great!
3566 M7's in the Z06 and 560 in silver. Out 11,000 plus Z06's
The M7's should have a good resale.
They built the **** out of Z06's. 14,275 of them in 2016 and 8,653 of them in 2015, and a bunch or sitting on the dealer's showroom floors, unsold. Now that Tadge has said changes are being made to the 2017's to address the overheating problems, that should make it very difficult for the dealers to get rid of their unsold 2016's without having a fire sale on them.
That won't help the resale value of a 2015 or a 2016; M7 or A8.
ALL of the owners of M7s post here...should be easy to start another thread.

NOT every potential buyer will know of the upcoming 2017 "fix."
What I find interesting is how well the Arctic White sells, yet where I drive in SW Florida, I don't see very many Arctic White C7s, let alone Arctic White C7Zs. However, whenever I attend a Corvette show it seems as though "Dark Red" is the official Corvette color for Florida. Not only Long Beach Red and Crystal Red from the C7 generation, but also Monterey Red, Magnetic Red, etc. from the C6 and C5 generations.
