Default Second thoughts ........

So I walk out on the front deck at daybreak for that first cup of coffee. Sitting on the roof of my Z is a cat ...................... So I very quietly reached for my .22 small varmint rifle ................. Nah says I to myself. Even using the railing to steady the barrel, not a good idea. Guess it's time for a bunch of rat traps with felt glued to the bottoms.

Two words for you: Car Cover!

BTW! If you park outdoors routinely you shouldn't worry about these things. You could place a small trap for it ($20.00 at Tractor Supply) then take it to the local shelter. Nature will bless you for doing the right thing (which you did by not using your varmint rifle).

Don't do that, Mike...you're a better man than that.

Nah, being a cat person, I'd have shot over it's head just as I'd have never set out rat traps. Just my initial reaction. We've neuter/spay more drop offs where I live out in the country than I'd care to think of, only to lose them to coyotes, hawks, skunks, etc. Oscar, my orange tabby was a pound adoption. Could not leave him alone when on the forum. There were several threads with unintelligible posts to his credit that I had to go back and delete. Still not over losing him to feline leukemia several years ago. House will never be the same.

Sorry to hear about your cats passing. . That's the biggest problem with cats and dogs....takes a long time to get over them when they're gone Orange tabbies are usually really friendly cats and would be my first choice in an outdoor cat. Need a squirrel killer around my house.

We've been feeding this huge gray short hair with part of one ear gone. Goofy cat has decided it likes my wife's favorite deck chair. She'll shoo it off, sit down and it'll simply jump up in her lap and plop down. I love it.

I am routinely in the same boat. I've got a neighbor that has 15 -20 cats that roam the neighborhood. They've gone into my backyard and torn up the catnip container garden I made for my cats.. they provoke my cats through the window... and now they purposely incite my puppy... and I found cat prints on the roof of my new Z06 a few days ago. I got a cat trap and caught one and called Animal control and they said the wouldn't pick it up... wanted me to take it to them. What exactly do you do then?? I would do it, but I'm in class for 6 hours a day then work 6 to 8 hours... any time I have left is spent studying or writing papers...
Seems that as the number of "Government" Agencies increases they systematically do less... and cost me more..

I recently adopted a cat who was awesome!! He would routinely leave cat tracks on the Z in the garage. I learned to live with that (kinda) but the using the couch as his personal claw sharpening device was starting to **** me off.

Then...one day he never came home. It's been a couple of weeks and I'm guessing his "everything is a new friend" attitude has caused him to be a coyotes lunch.

Gave me a reason to go call some yotes in last weekend and send them to their great reward. I HATE coyotes!!!

Amen to that...I still dream about my childhood dog and every pet since.
