Default Help with Performance Data Recorder

Trying to get my 16 gb memory card formatted. I've downloaded http://www.easeus.com/partition-manager/personal.html but after downloading and formatting I click yes and it shuts my computer down and won't come back up as long as the card is in the slot. What am I doing wrong?

Why didn't GM supply this card with the car? $1800 and they don't supply a memory card that's ready to go!

Are you sure you actually formatted it. Put it back in your computer and see if it is actually formatted? My downloaded software screwed the formatting on my 64GB memory card and made it totally unreadable. That is when I purchased a preformatted 32 GB drive and never looked back.

It did not format. My computer wouldn't come back up so no format. Did you use Easeus? I'm doing something wrong but don't know what.

So, when I got my car a few weeks ago I went and bought a 64 GB SD card, but the PDR wouldn't recognize it. I googled the issue and found out it had to be FAT32 format and a different forum had a link for a program that allowed that formatting...but it was $49.95... ripoff... so I swiped the SD card out of my wife's Canon Rebel and it was FAT32 so I got a 4GB and she got a 64GB card. But, then it dawned on me that maybe her camera formatted the card to FAT32 so I got her camera today and took a picture and a short video and guess was... formatted in FAT32. So, if your having an issue with formatting just run the card through a camera, possibly one that does video. I can only attest to the Canon Rebel.

I'll have to give that a try! Seems Easeus doesn't work. Thanks!

It has to be formatted FAT32, I did a thread on this and it's on page 2 right now... there's a little more info there... check it out.

Yea I tried the program too and it was a ripoff... but apparently some computers allow you to right click on the SD card and format it to FAT32, but mine didn't allow that... I hope the camera trick works for you...

Tried that too but FAT is all my computer has. No FAT32.

Looks like I'll have to take it to the dealer. Oh me!

All you need a a simple SD card reader, plug the SD card into it and plug it in to your USB port on the PC.

Assuming it's a windows machine, just right click the drive on windows explorer and select format then select fat32. There's no need for any software or anything, this is basic computers 101...

I tried that first. All it tells you is to insert a FAT32 formatted SD card.

What operating system do you have, older computer? FAT is FAT16...

You're welcome to ship to me and I'll format and send back to you but given the cost of these cards I would just go to walmart or best buy and get a fat32 formatted card. Get a 32GB...

I have Windows 7 and I see options for Fat32.

You can try doing it through the command prompt.

1 - Click Start button
2 - Write Cmd in search box
3 - Press enter
4 - Type "format J: /FS:FAT32"(where J is your drive letter for your SD card reader - no quotes)
5 - Press Enter, press Y if prompted.
6 - Press Enter and it should format Fat32

With the camera... take a picture and a video with it then try it in the car... I should have mentioned that... if I didn't... mine went into the camera non-FAT32 and came out FAT32... yay... if not, where are you... and if you want to pm me I'll give you my address and you can mail it and I'll format it and send it back to you.

And I have to agree that when you pay that much for a vehicle and an additional $1800 for the PDR they could have included the memory card...

I bought a SanDisk 32gb SD card from Amazon and plugged it in the car. No need to format.

Here's what I get below. Hopefully I followed your procedure exactly. Less the quote marks as you indicated.
