Another quick question, please. Does the TB look any different from the outside, I.E; does Katech, Weapon X, etc. put their logo on the TB? If not, the only way to determine (Dealer issue) if the porting was done is to remove the inlet tube, and a Dealer would not be inclined to do this as part of any "regular" service. Just curious.

I don't have any photos of the back side. TB looks no different from the outside.

I just took a couple picts of the back side of the stock TB. Not to speak for Katech, but I doubt much was done on the back side. The big issue with the stock TB is the sharp lip on the front side.

the one I just received from Weapon X has no markings on it. Its my understanding that these TB's from Katech, Weapon X, etc...are not made by them, they come off of factory Z06's, the company ports them out, resells them, takes back in & credits for cores that are returned as customers do their swap out,,,,.... ??? maybe I'm wrong, but that's what I thought since I will get a $ 150 credit when I return my core unit to Weapon X after the swap.

Katech does not require a core. Says new on their web site. I would not want one for my 2017 off of a 2015 with maybe 50K miles. http://store.katechengines.com/lt1lt...body-p487.aspx

I can't speak for other companies, but we buy new throttle bodies through the dealer network and port them in-house here in Michigan.

Just ordered one last night Jason. New with no core is why I bought yours in addition to even the shaft machined so nicely! Thanks for shipping it out so quickly today.

Can't you just modify the original TB sent to you by the customer?

We are not doing these on a per-customer basis. We're only doing new units in batches. We provide better customer service that way.

Just got off the phone with Weapon X and was assured all their units are new, I misunderstood the core credit, you receive the core credit if you are returning your own TB to have it ported & returned back to you, not buying a new one...........

Any other quick and easy mods like this that are dealer friendly from Katech? I'm in Michigan, so I'm a big fan. I just bought one of their TB's off of ebay

Quick question. Is that just a simple plug or does it have some kind of crazy locking device on it.

simple, pull the red lock on it out some (it clicks back easily) then squeeze the grey tab where the red part slid out and pull. Should not have to force it at all.

Put a Katech ported t-body on my 2017 Z06 to get rid of that annoying stumble, it did, feels better at low end too, no check engine lights. Something you really don't want to do to your new car, but the results are WORTH IT, were for me anyway

My Katech PTB should arrive tomorrow, already installed the BMS Filter, this should be a great combination when it's done. BTW the air filter is a PITA to change out.

Old thread but just installed a weapon-x port TB. I have terrible stumbling and got CEL and limp mode. Turned car off and got it out of limp mode but still stumbles and tries to cut out once above 3000 rpm. Know its a Z06 thread, but installed on 2017 GS. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.
