What is the best air intake for Z06
#121
I am very interested in this intake, is it true that it creates 70 more HP? Or how much more HP can I expect with this system? My goal is to keep my warranty.

Okay so now the hose on the air box thing is an issue on the Halltechs? I was one of the original buyers of this during the first group buy. I have to say that the car runs fantastic with zero issues but this thing with the hose on or near the air box has me concerned. Is this an absolute must do?? What happens if you dont make the adjustment? Again Ive had this on my car now for almost 2 years.
Thanks Guys!

the intake. It would be touching the sock if at all and the nomex sock has no heat transfer and stops the heat
from warming the intake.
My Halltech is number 26 of the first group buy as well. It fits good runs like raped ape.
Made right at 599-600 rwhp with just the Halltech.
Mine has been over 17,000. You need to clean the filter.
Since these cars suck a lot more air through the filter. It get dirty quicker. I would say every 10k or less pull it out and clean it.
The dry IMO would need replaced I would not use air and blow a dry filter out to clean and reuse. I would only replace a dry filter.

air filter replacment C7 2017 z06
yes, my 2017 threw a code with a green air filter only just the filter, then it had less bottom end, i was told it may be oil got on the mass air flow sensor from the oiled filter. i had to clean the sensor, and put the factory dry filter back in, so what ever you do i would use a dry filter, i dont know if a after market dry filter will throw a code or not, but the 2017 z06 cars are sensitive to little changes, mark

As they come all the filters should be fine, until over oiled.
At the auto parts store you will find CRC MAF spray cleaner. It only takes a few moments with a spray or two to clean the MAF Sensor.
I have used/tried the stock, the K&N, the Green , the BMS, the AFE blue, the AFE gray air filter and none have fouled the MAF sensor at all.
In the stock housing the Green is good (see a performance improvement) compared to stock but I think the BMS 'maybe' better. The AFE intake using the dry 'low flow' gray filter has put down the best numbers (ET & MPH) on the stock tune.
I drive my car at the track, not on a dyno.

[QUOTE=C7/Z06 Man;1597524458]At the auto p:
i was told the 2017 c7 z06 are more touchy ? when it comes to changing things, and you need to retune if you do to make it right, then it voids warranty, the mass sensor is real close to the filter on the c7's z06, and my filter had a lot of oil on it when i recieved it, i cleaned the mass sensor and it still lost bottom end, just didnt have what it had in short runs block to block. .

I have a 15 and I have read here that the 17 'may' be more sensitive too. If your performance went down then re-install the stocker. As you can see from the different filters I have tried, if it does not improve than it is removed.

oiled Air filter c7 z06
sound's Right, i coudnt belive it after i Installed it, me and my brother use to race side by side a little on the streets and he never gained on me, then after the filter change he gained he asked me what was wrong, i told him, green filter denied they ever heard of it. Another thing not about the filters is i installed borla mufflers with NPP and a X pipe that eliminated the secondary cats only, not the front cats,on my car also and lost bottom end, the stock mufflers a X pipe gave me TorQ at bottom end, borla told me they only tested the muffllers on 2015 z06, and due to the problem they may test on 2017 or newer z06's. to see if there is a differance, they refunded me great service. but it made me sick after all the time to install them, when i get a newer z06 i will leave it stock. they run crisper, unless you re tune, then no warranty.

I have installed the Halltech with the Nomex sock on my 2017 ZO6 A8. I have not had any fitment issues or codes. Drove the car 600 miles (one way) to the NCM Motorsports track and ran the car there with no issues on track, or on the trip home. Averaged 26 mpg. Took it to the local eighth mile track last week and ran 7.22 @ 102 mph in 91 degree heat. I couldn't be happier with the intake. I do have the TRIC, but have not installed it yet.
