If you want whining, take your wife along.

I removed this today and can definitely hear it now. It's not loud, but it builds with acceleration above 5000 rpm or when over 0 psi boost.
Still debating if it's worth it or I should put it back on.

Would a downpour or water hurt the the motor if it's not sealed there?

I don't think anyone knows the full range of things that could result, but I do know one thing: GM is cheap and wouldn't put a part on a car unless it was for a purpose.

Does it mean leaves might get in your engine compartment or that the hood will fly off at speed? I don't know. That's why I'm hesitant to leave it off, because I don't fully know its purpose.

I removed mine yesterday. After taking it out earlier today, I cannot hear any blower whine. Windows up or down, nothin'. I do have the Halltech CAI and Borla X-pipe though. Tough to hear much over my exhaust. Oh well, putting it back on....

I deleted mine a year ago I cant here wine because my exhaust is to loud.... But in traffic with the seal removed and the LMR 160* T stat my engine runs cooler, and I know its high pressure there at speed but in fla heat and traffic I see a faster cool down when moving. I think all the sound is at the air intake and that is too far away to here.

Default Just My quick 2 cents! ;)

I haven't read this and I am only answering the OP! I think the Camaro would sound louder because it's more open up front, at least!

Stupid common sense!? I (at least) do that!
