Threads like this are juvenile. Some time you will catch up with a guy driving Daddy's Porsche or Lambo and when you guys get aggressive he will follow. Do you really want it on your conscience when he wraps the car around a guardrail or takes out a baby stroller on the sidewalk ? Please guys save it for the track.

It's not only the conscience to consider. There is also jail time for manslaughter or second degree murder if the other guy takes out the stroller and you are street racing. I agree with b4, that's what tracks are for.

I just HATE it when someone posts a rational, adult comment on the internet.

Agreed.
The chassis is so well designed it kinda hides just how quickly the car can get up to triple digit speed.
Driving a Z06 in anger is not for the casual driver IMO.

What I find interesting are people who drive 650 horsepower cars and claim they've never screwed around on the street. I've been driving for 52 years and did my share of street racing back in the 60's and early 70's. I don't think there's anyone on this forum who doesn't know the risks and possible ramifications of street racing. I had a GTR play with me last week, but because of the location, I ignored him. Admittedly, there have been times when I've I've given in to temptation and exhibited a lack of "self-control." When I do give into temptation, I choose my locations very carefully.

It is always very tempting of course. I think people just want to mess around with each other for fun.

I have a few cars. 2 of them are a 911 and a Cayenne and all kinds of cars mess with both of them. I deal with BMW's, American cars, Honda's you name it. With the Cayenne there are plenty of SUV's, etc.

I also have a 750 HP 2010 Camaro and it is the same bull on the road with that. It does seem I have more imports messing around with the 911 and Cayenne.

Heck, I even have a winter beater and I will have people jacking around with me in that thing.

One thing for sure... I always seem to have the wrong car when people want to play on the road.

I have the Cayenne and someone comes up and starts messing around with me in their V6 Camaro.

I guess it is just boys and their toys of course.

Yesterday driving thru northern MS in my 2009 C6Z06 I had a MB ML500 begin tailgating me on a 2 lane. Traffic was kinda bad. I hit a red light. I look ahead and about 100 yards we shift back over to 4 lanes. Light turns green, I hit it. He tried to keep up but when I hit the chicane in the highway I never lifted. I didn't see my speed but I did power slide on exit. I figure I was north of 75MPH (and maybe 90). Well by the time he exited I was about 500yards ahead. I expect he might of had some issues making that first right hand 45 degree turn. I slowed back down but he never caught back up.

Porsche sure did a good marketing job fooling the public that the Boxster is a slouch compared to the 911.

The truth is the mid engine car is no joke.

I wouldn't say it's a joke. I also wouldn't call it a drivers car. Having driven boxer, cayman, and 911 I put the Boxter in the same category as a Miata which I also don't consider a joke. The Caymen handled much better than the Boxter and the 911. With the stronger motor I really prefer the 911.
