ARH vs Kooks Headers

ARH vs Kooks Headers
Looking to get a set of 1-7/8" Headers + X-Pipe. Narrowing it down between ARH and Kooks.. But Kooks is 800$ cheaper, any opinions on the two?
Thanks,
Mike

Both should be great headers. I have wondered why no one talks about the aFe headers. (Pfadt) The quality looks amazing and back when they were built by Pfadt in the Camaro circles they were the ones to own.

I did the same comparison when shopping for LTs for my Z06. I ended up going with Kooks as it was nearly a toss up. You really can't go wrong with either though...
Just had them installed last week and holy sh*t its LOUD! For the first time ever I'm using "stealth" mode for cold start in the morning to avoid pissing off the entire neighborhood
For what its worth my tuner said the Kooks fit perfectly...zero issues. He said some LTs on the C7 rub and some require you to drop the engine cradle slightly to squeeze them in. No such issues with the Kooks.

well here is my take
The Zo6 I had before this 2016 I had American Racing headers on it. Went in easy, sounded great, and with a little tuning felt very strong.
I met the owner of the company and his son, great people.
Never had the kooks headers, some people like them.
I had a conversation with one of the kooks owners, son I think, I will be buying the ARH product again based on that attitude filled conversation. Think what you want but I like the people at ARH ..

I'm on my 4th Corvette with headers. Kook's all the way. I've had zero issues with any of them. I've had a 1980, a 2011 GS with Edlebrock supercharger, and 2 C7 Z06's all with Kook's. I sold the 80 at 100K miles, the 11 GS had 100K miles, my 1st C7 Z06 had 13K miles on it when I sold it and my 16 Z06 now has 36K miles on it. I drive-em. Hard and often.

Search vengeance racing independent testing. The ARH made 50+ tq at some Rpms and made more power through the whole curve and peak as well. Mostly due to the length of the headers, the ARH are some 10" longer. I just went through this debate myself and got the ARH. However kooks will work and perform great.

Both are great, I couldn't justify the price difference and went with Kooks.

You must not have been active on the forum back then because plenty of people were talking quite a bit about Pfadt and all of the defective parts that users got stuck with in addition to a whole lot of people reporting problems with the C6Z headers not fitting properly etc. Ultimately Pfadt was bailed out by afe but the consensus from the vast majority of people that got burned dealing with Pfadt's junk parts (including my self) since then has pretty much been that hell will need to freeze over before those guys ever see another dollar of mine. When there are multiple, solid, companies with proven long term track records of putting out quality parts that you can deal with like Kooks, ARH and several others why even risk dealing with an off brand like Pfadt/afe especially knowing their track record and reputation?

Had Kooks before and just ordered and received a 1 7/8 set with non cat mid pipes. Have love the fit and finish and ease of install, even though this time I'mm having a tuner do the deed... cant go wrong with either

I was reading one day in a Camaro form and they said that the Kooks are 18 gauge versus the ARH at 16 gauge I don't know if they change by applications? Just what I read, and I don't know if anyone can confirm the gauges of steel?

Just want to follow, as headers or cat delete pipes are in my future.

All i ever installed on my personal cars were kooks long tubes.
On my last vette, i was almost close in getting LG motorsports headers, because they were running a sale back then. But the salesman told me that people have had fitment issues with them. Mind you these were more money than kooks so i appreciated the honesty of the salesman in directing me in the right direction instead of just making the sale selling me more expensive headers. I went with kooks, had them installed easily. No rubbing, it was a breeze.
I don't foresee me doing long tubes on the Z because i'm waiting for the C8 debut to let me know if i'm going to wait to upgrade to that or not but IF, IF, IF i do long tubes on this car, i'm going back to kooks.
They been in the biz for a long time. Great reputation, awesome quality, proven power made and they're really affordable.
