Thank you!!
I have this happen too sometimes when I no lift shift. Even on full slicks and in PTM Race. It seems like it helps to make sure you have absolutely no steering input.

I put it in Track every time I'm on the track. When I'm driving on the street I like Tour, or sometimes Sport.

I have had the car go into the basic non-PTM mode on its own.

I was running a track event and had the driving mode in Track - PTM Sport1. As I was in a turn the PTM mode dropped out and the driving mode apparently went to the basic non-PTM mode.

At the time I don't recall getting any message on the DIC (but I was looking around the corner and down the track!!). I guess it was shortly after it dropped out of Sport1 that I noticed that the TC and AH lights were NOT illuminated any longer. They are both on in the PTM modes, so I assumed that for some reason the PTM had dropped out.

During that session I didn't think to try another double button push to see if PTM would come back on - I just kept on driving and everything went well.

When reviewing that session with Cosworth Toolbox I noticed that as I was braking down for that corner that the "skidding car" icon (Active Handling/Stabilitrak) light came on for just an instant (you can see it in the top right of the pictures below).

Below is a sequence of screenshots of the PDR video with about 3-4 seconds between each one. The AH light came on in the first picture, then another 3 or 4 seconds and it came on again.

Take a look just above the RPM display where in the first pictures it says "Performance Traction Management: Sport 1". In the last picture it's gone!! So I guess I was in the basic non-PTM Track mode from then on in the session.

So....I guess that Sport 1 dropped out. I assume that TC and AH came back full on (the lights were "out"), but I didn't notice anything different in the steering, suspension, etc.

It would be kinda nice to know exactly what you do have (or don't have) when in the basic non-PTM Track mode. However, next session when I went out I put it back into Sport 1 and never had it pop back to that basic Track mode again.

You must have hit the center button again. That'll knock it out of PTM.

Interesting, does it happen less in race then sport 2?

I'm also running slicks, and when I shift kinda quick, ( which is easy to do with my Callaway short shifter) in sport 2, The computer steps in sometimes, and slow the car/motor a bit, like traction control kicking in. If I shift slower and smoother, the computer does not step in, and the car pulls very nicely!! It probably confuses the computer a bit with having slicks and an extra 120 HP and TQ, may step in early?

I was thinking I would try race mode in track setting, and it would not happen, but obviously you're saying it does...

so in race/track mode there are still some nannies...

In order to get rid of everything, hold the button down for 8-10 seconds I guess. I'll try just shifting a bit smoother on my first session at Fontana tomorrow while running in track/sport 2. I may also try track/race as well...

No - you can see I was in 4th in the first picture, then downshifted to 3rd by the second picture, and stayed in 3rd with both hands on the steering wheel all the way from then basically all the way through the infield. In the last picture you can see an ess turn that is T2, then a few hundred yards down the track from that is T3. Sometimes I'll go down to 2nd gear for that, but in the pictures in that sequence my hands are both on the wheel for at least 7 seconds from my downshift to when Sport 1 drops out.

I do play with the driving modes when driving a student with a C7 around a track, but I wasn't doing any driving mode demo during this sequence. Sport 1 just dropped out all on its own!!

BTW - I've reviewed dozens of other track session PDR videos, and I can't find another one that has the "skidding car" icon flash on when in Sport 1. Of course in Sport 2 or Race the AH is off, but I just haven't seen it in any other videos where I'm running in Sport 1, so I think something weird was going on during that particular session that AH didn't like, so it just gave up and dropped out of PTM mode.

I think this was an answer to my question regarding what seems like "traction control" kicking in when I'm on the track with slicks, and shifting quickly...

At the drag strip, I get tc kicking in if I do nls. Even if I turn it off by a single touch. And in track mode, sport 1, it does it too

So when I'm driving in normal track or sport mode, and I punch the gas, the "Perf shift mode" kicks in and come ups on the display - Is it defaulting to one of the 5 Perf Track Modes that you set when you press the TCS button twice? Or are these Perf Track Modes just additional Pre-sets to really dial in track mode for the appropriate pavement condition?

I've only had my Z06 a little over month and still trying to sort these out. Maybe I can enable PDR and do test runs in each of 5 modes and find out all the differences first hand.

Performance Shift Mode is all about the auto transmission staying in lower gears / higher rpms. It has nothing to do with drive modes or PTM.

Gents, stupid question here. Was at Fontana last week, first time there. Spent the morning getting to know the track and pushed a bit in the afternoon. Posted a few sub 2 minute laps so was fine for first time there. Lots of room for improvement. Stupid question is where do I find a list of the different track modes and exactly what they do. When I look at my PDR video the squiggly lines were on half the time, so nannies working overtime on my behalf. I was in regular (no double tap) track mode all day.

Would like to know exactly what they do before I start turning them off and do something stupid

Thanks in advance

Brad
