The day after I bought the car, I drove around by myself and had people waving, giving me thumbs up, I saw people pointing, and some just plain staring. I told my wife and she gave me the "yeah right" treatment, but first time she went for a drive with me she noticed it too. Almost every time I stop for gas someone wants to talk about the car. The most fun though are the kids. Today, I had to swing by Home Depot and as I was leaving I saw a young kid (3-4 years old) having a bit of a tantrum. As soon as he saw my car he grabs his dads hand and starts pointing and smiling. As I drove by I popped it in neutral and goosed the pedal and he started laughing and clapping. Awesome reactions.
My wife and I, last night were trying to figure out what it is that people see that are always complimenting the car when we go out. It never fails, we receive more compliments on the car than any car I have ever owned and that includes the Bentley we had. Can someone explain what it is that people compliment the vehicle, because yes, it is a Corvette, but there are a lot of Corvettes. I am perplexed! It is very nice to receive a compliment, but I am just curious. Do you, when you go out receive the same accolades with your Corvette? Maybe, I need to get a government grant for a research project?
The Z does get a lot of attention, and likely more compliments and comments than any Vette I've owned, but honestly, I think I've gotten more compliments on the AMG than any of my cars combined in the last 6 months. I swear, I will never be able to predict someone's behavior, lol...

It is the lines. Z06 has a muscular look, beefy look but with a touch of an exotic car and I'm sure most of them don't know the monster engine inside. I drive a Lotus but my next car will be a Z06
No exaggeration--------yesterday some of our family went to a very popular hot dog, burger place at a waterfront park. While my wife, daughter and son-in-law took the baby for a walk I hung around the shore area abutting the parking lot. I was in earshot of my car.
At LEAST 20 to 30 people stopped to look at the car; take pictures; walk around it etc. I offered to let 3-4 sit in the car while friends and family took pictures. Many others commented to their friends, etc. as they walked past the car. People of all ages loved it.
THEN.............there was this group of 5 young men in their early 20's if I had to guess. They were sitting on the seawall 20 feet away or so. They started arguing among themselves about Z06's and Z07's. At least one thought they were two separate, distinct cars. Long story short-----in our brief conversation one individual made it a point to let everyone in earshot know that these car aren't so great, and his buddy had one. However, because it kept overheating at the track he had to trade it in for a Viper---a car that could perform on the track, unlike the corvettes.
I initially ignored him, but after awhile..............I just said that "Perhaps your friend just doesn't know how to drive such a powerful car, especially, if it was an automatic, and maybe he needs to learn how and when to downshift, etc. I have read where this is a major issue with many inexperienced owners." His friends howled with laughter (supporting me)------never heard another word from him...................but I did get four thumbs up from his friends 20 minutes later when we left and they heard the exhaust.
