It is x-pipe back really, or axle back if you want to call it that. No modifications are required.

Correct, unbolt the existing system, bolt in the new one. My Z06 is at the dealership as we speak getting the new MagnaFlow installed, cannot wait to pick it up later today

To say anyone has been "astonished" with the product is a bit of a stretch.
So it's a lot louder than stock on track mode and drones on the highway in stealth mode?

It is louder in stealth mode than the OEM was in track mode. The drone is pretty minimal, but present at low rpm, high load situations (think 6th or 7th gear around 50mph).

The "modes" do not do anything with this exhaust as it only closes the outer tip but does not do any extra muffling of the exhaust. It doesn't sound bad, but I think any of those who recently purchased this will agree once installed that there is no silencing this system. It isn't open header loud, but that cold morning start up can be obnoxious. I like Magnaflow, have it on my Chevelle, had it on my 71 C3 until we recently went side pipes, had it on my 2016 F150 5.0. No complaints on quality other than the discoloration I experienced after tracking mine.

Thanks!

I LOVE the idea of being able to shut the LOUD pipe down. Sounds like I would no longer have that option eh?

I'll let others chime in since there are a number of those who have ordered recently. The stealth mode of the stock system is absolutely not achievable with this system though. Honestly, even with the Akrapovic system, stealth is still a measurable amount louder. What seems to be the real ticket is to add aftermarket long tube headers, and keep the factory axle back.

I am heading to pick up my car, exhaust installation is finished and will report how my 30 mile drive home goes.

I actually like the sound of the stock exhaust leaving it in sport mode all the time. It's sad that I'm thinking of dropping $5700 on an Akrapovic just for the carbon fiber tips I need to get rid of anything polished/chrome. Thinking of maybe powdercoating or painting stock tips black.

I just put mine on in the garage. I have a lift and install took about 2 hours as i was just taking my time. It sounds amazing! Took it around the neighborhood and it sounds like a racecar. I love it and we all got the deal of the year for 400 bucks!

Anyone have any recommendations on a 3" X-pipe, other than the Corsa? I have the Borla but would like to get a full 3" X-pipe since this exhaust is 3".

Great deal on a quality exhaust! Mine just arrived today and looks great.

So how loud is it? I'm an old fart and sometimes need quiet.

Ok....just ordered!!! Will either have them powder coated or painted black.... Thank you VictorBarron for the heads up and everyone for sharing all your info!!!

Edit....will we see any hp or torque gains from this system? Looks like some weight saving gains maybe...??

Just got home after having my Magnaflow installed, sounds like a racecar now, it roars when you are on the throttle, and at idle it sounds awesome. I have an A8, so going down the highway at 70 Mph you can hear it, but it is not annoying whatsoever, just slightly hear it. So I am 100% pleased with the system and it was a steal at 400 bucks, dealership charged me 300 bucks to install, money well spent

Here is a quick cold start video from my smart phone, sound quality does not do the system any justice recording it from the phone.

Tell me if that sound isn't pure visceral? When my installer fired mine up I was standing behind it. The deep throaty sound went through my body just like at the drag races. Anybody who wants a KILLER deal needs to order one ASAP.

I agree 100%, I fired it up inside the service drive and it was badass

Does this install require removing the rear valence or diffuser?
