BMS filter works!
Friday evening I took my 2017 Z06 (A8), completely stock with stock tires (24 lbs of air in rear), to Summit Raceway Park in Norwalk, Ohio. The car had 1680 miles on it and no other changes other than a BMS replacement air filter.
The car ran 10.77 @129.06 mph. The 60 ft time was 1.636. Densitiy altitude was approx. 1315 ft and the temp was 69 degrees.
No launch control used and all "nannys" off. Heavy burnout to get tires good and hot, slightly loaded convert around 1800 rpm.
These cars do run.

The car had never been run before. The only comparison I have are two other Z06's in the area that have run in comparable air and the same track. One at 11:22 and the other at 11:10 both with A8's with stock tires and both with cold air inlet systems. One with a Halltech and the other with an AFE. As well as the fact that my car picked up 1 1/2 lbs of boost changing from the stock filter to the BMS filter.

Before you get too excited! Read! https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...eal-world.html
I have the green filter in my 2017 A8 with 1850 miles right now even though I think it is made by K&N to Green filter specs since it has a wider base and also have a BMS as well
I have yet to try. Dyno says the Halltech wins the intake battle
but getting it all to the ground is the story.
The 60ft time reduced by a tenth gets you more than any filter.
Just got invited to a private track rental tomorrow morning.
Nice runs!

Best way is to compare 60's and DA. then you have more of an idea if driver had more to do with it than any changes.

I would certainly be excited with just a filter with a 10.77@129 ET......while the other cars he described were just running much higher ET. I guess the rest is just driver's mod. Nice SPEEDSQUAD👍

I have read all the hundreds of posts on the great filter wars, as many have, and regardless, a K&N will not flow the numbers a BMS filter will....period. Try a back to back comparison of the two on a mile run rather than 660 ft. I would agree, however, the Green filter is a good alternative to the BMS because as you stated, it has a larger base opening. Incidentally, my best 1/8 mile numbers were 6.991 @102.37.
"Before I get too excited", you say?? I agree with Fore58. I think a 10.77 in a stocker with street tires is worth getting excited over.
Thanks Fore58!

Stock tires
Nailing the throttle open hard slowed the 60 ft to 1.69 and the quarter mile to 10.84.
