Storing my C7 Z06 for the first time. Having difficulty getting StaBil fuel additive into the car thru the cap-less filler. When i insert a metal funnel with extension - the neck is grabbed by a second "valve" in the gas line and difficult to move.
Is there a special technique to insert a funnel into these new style gas filler systems?
I cannot get the funnel into the filler system deep enough to get the StaBil into the car....it keeps overflowing at the filler. I fear that if I use a funnel with a long flex neck. the second valve in the filler system will grab onto the grooves in the flex tube and not allow me to pull it back out.
How have you guys gotten fuel stabilizer into your C7 without issues?

Happy Holidays -
When I added stabilizer to mine I used a long narrow neck plastic funnel. It easily opened the second flap. You can also use the little funnel that comes with the car which opens up the second flap. Just use another funnel with that one to avoid spillage.
Best thing to do is use non ethanol fuel for the last tank or so of the season, second use stabil marine, we are not seeing good results out of the stabil red and any ethanol fuel in any of our winterized or summerized vehicle, the non ethanol fuel alone has been way better then using stabil red.
to your question as mentioned use a long slender funnel, or most times I add it to my fuel cans when getting my non ethanol fuel, this is mainly because I get my 91 non ethanol fuel from a place 50 miles away so I usually buy 100 gallons in my tank for filling the jet skis and sleds etc, but that drive back mixes it well.
A colleague of mine spent some time doing manufacturers emissions testing and their research showed Chevron Supreme Techron had the greatest stability and lowest emissions outputs of all premium fuels they tested (2010-11). I started using this in all our small engines and noted much better starting after long-term storage. I've also used this in all my motorcycles for winter storage with excellent results. By all means, use Stabile, but top the tank with Chevron Supreme too. Food for thought (and no, I don't work for Chevron or own their stock )
